Overview
Come experience an amazing adventure-filled day in the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano area! The zip line course has 12 cables, 24 platforms, and 2 climbing walls. You will also do rappelling, Tarzan swing, and a rock-climbing wall. You will have an amazing time riding horses through the dry forest to the 3.5-mile river tubing that starts at the Victoria Waterfall. This river has a great mix of rapids and areas to float on to admire nature. After the best typical Costa Rican lunch we will take you to the natural hot springs at Rio Negro river, where you will enjoy the warm water coming straight from the Volcano Rincón de la Vieja. There is a full-body volcanic clay mud soak to relax in and enjoy the healing minerals while we spoil you with your favorite drink.

Sunblock, bug spray, swimsuit, comfortable clothing, closed-toed shoes that can get wet, fresh clothes for the ride back and a towel.

We stayed in Playa Grande and the VRBO owner recommended Ariel/Playa Grande Shuttle & Tours for planning activities. We traveled with another family, so there were 8 of us total (ages 12 - 52). We booked the all day combo pack. Ariel and Juan Carlos were awesome - truly over the top accommodating! Just like all of the reviews say, they were patient, attentive, flexible, keep you busy and entertained without feeling rushed, etc. They were also great conversationalists and we learned a ton about the country on our journey. We booked a four day private tour of the Arenal area with Playa Grande Tours, and our expectations were exceeded every step of the way. This was our second time working with Playa Grande Shuttle & Tours, and we were not disappointed. Ariel was on time to pick us up in Samara, and shared his deep knowledge of sights and history on the long drive to La Fortuna. During the days we spend in the Arenal region, he planned itineraries that were interesting, personal, and struck the right balance between busy and enjoying some time to relax. In addition, we were traveling with our young daughter (age 3), and Ariel went absolutely above and beyond to make sure she was happy, comfortable and having fun at all times. Costa Rica is a fun, easy place to travel alone, but we got so much more out of the experience traveling with Ariel as our guide than we would have on our own. We can't wait to go back!Kiransk1996

We had the best time and loved every second of this tour. First off, Ariel was awesome! He was able to accommodate us and move our tour to the following day due to our luggage mistakenly taken. The tour guide, Ronny, was very friendly and professional. He picked us up, on-time, and even helped convince me and my wife to go river tubing. Our favorites were everything, but if we had to pick, definitely river tubing, ziplining, and mud bath. This was an absolute delight of a day. We booked last minute for just my husband and I and they were totally accommodating. We were coming from nosara so we had to drive a bit to meet Jose, who drove us the rest of the way. He was awesome- on time, super friendly, helpful and helped us to keep things moving along in the busy park. He said his only rules were that there were no rules and there was no rush... my kinda guy!! He stopped immediately upon meeting to grab some coffees since it was barely 7am, brought a cooler with cervesas, stopped on the way back for us to grab some gifts for the kiddos. All in all it was a great experience and such a fun day- the tubing especially is not to be missed! I’d highly recommend this adventure and with this company specifically. We just returned home and realized the park never emailed us the photos we paid for but Ariel has been in touch the entire time helping us sort it out. Quick replies and full attention. Zero complaints. We’ll 100% be back with the kids next time and fully plan on hitting up Ariel/Jose. Thanks so much for such a hospitable experience!! Pura vida!!
