Our driver, Jose, was friendly, informative and took good care of my daughter and I on this long, but fun-filled day of adventure. He told us that this was "our day" and he would shape the tour to refect our interests. Our favorite parts were the inner tubing in Class 1 and Class 2 rapids in the Rio Negra and zip-lining. The guides at the inner tubing activity were adept at herding the tubers and keeping us moving if we got caught up on a rock or stuck in an eddy. As far as ziplining, this was my 1st time and I loved it! You don't have to brake yourself because there is a system in place to slow you down. We zipped along a series of 9 different cables with an option to repel down the side of a cliff and climb back up on staple grips. You can also swing on a Tarzan rope and shout out your best Tarzan yell, followed by a traverse across a hanging bridge. By this time, we were ready for the delicious and authentic Costa Rican buffet style lunch. To end the day, we painted ourselves with volcanic mud, showered, then soaked in the geothermal pools of various temperatures from 96 deg F to 104 deg F. These waters have 7 different minerals which contribute to overall health and spirit. What a extraordinary day of activities we had!

We had a fantastic all day adventure tour with Playa Grande Tours & Shuttles. Our driver, Jose, was so friendly, informative, and helpful! Picked us up right on time with a well-stocked cooler in a very comfortable shuttle, and guided us through a really fun day in Rincon de la Vieja. So much fun, wouldn’t hesitate to book more tours through them again & again. Highly recommended!!

This was an amazing excursion! The zip lines were unique and unlike | have ever experienced! Some went through a narrow canyon! Our driver Jose was the best! He made our trip top notch. He was very professional and even stopped for us to get some breakfast since it was an early pickup. If you visit Costa Rica and opt for an excursion, ask for Jose! Pura Vida!

Great day long adventure. The day will proceed as follows: 1. Horse back riding 2. Tubing in the rapids 3. Lunch 4. Zip lining the canopy 5. Hot springs and mud Some hints. You don't need your phone to capture images because they provide photographers for $45. If you deem it truly necessary, bring a waterproof case to carry your phone. Also, try carrying some extra cash with you to give tips into the tip box at the end of each portion. Fun, long day. But, well worth the day away from the beach.

Our first day we went horseback riding, zip lining, tubbing and finished at the hot springs. It was so fun!! Our guide Jose was amazing. He was very friend and so nice! He got us beers, water and other snacks. The people in Costa Rica are so nice and they try their best to make you feel comfortable and safe. I recommend the tour and Jose 100%!

Overall, my girls and I had a really fun time. It was our first time ever going horseback riding, river tubing, ziplining, and going to a hot spring. Horseback riding through the rainforest was a little scary due to the terrain being uneven. River tubing is for the thrill-seekers but forewarning you - it can be VERY DANGEROUS! Unfortunately, I had a near-death experience when the rapids flipped my tube over and I fell in. 8 ziplines and 1 Tarzan swing was a lot of fun. The hot springs is the best way to end a day full of adventure! The mud masks were amazing too.

Great service from Ariel and Ronny. I accidentally booked from a hotel that wasn’t in the pick up area and we were able to work it out without issue. Ronny was our guide and was awesome. He helped our family feel completely at ease by starting with a side trip to grab some coffee/ hot cocoa. Then on our way to Rincon, we stopped to see white faced monkeys and toucans. The adventure at self was awesome. The horseback riding was super easy going which was a plus for me. The tubing probably wouldn’t be legal in the states. So much fun! And the zip lining was pretty tame till the end where you have to climb a canyon face over to a Tarzan swing. Thankfully there are staples but the kids were pretty freaked out by this. Soaking in the hot springs was a great way to end the day. Ronny was such a great guide for us. He was so easy going and very knowledgeable. I am grateful to have this experience as part of our trip to Costa Rica.

Ariel and Playa Grande were amazing! My group of friends had such a great time. Each activity was well planned out and so fun! We had no problems meeting our driver in the morning and he stuck with us the whole day meeting us after each activity. I can’t recommend this group enough. It was a fantastic day, definitely the highlight of our trip. We can’t wait to return and join them for another adventure!

We had the best time and loved every second of this tour. First off, Ariel was awesome! He was able to accommodate us and move our tour to the following day due to our luggage mistakenly taken. The tour guide, Ronny, was very friendly and professional. He picked us up, on-time, and even helped convince me and my wife to go river tubing. Our favorites were everything, but if we had to pick, definitely river tubing, ziplining, and mud bath. We cannot wait to come back to Costa Rica and we'll definitely use Playa Grande Shuttle & Tours for our excursion!

It was a great tour. The Playa Grande Tours was reliable and committed to offer an excellent service. We were able to accomplish more activities in one Day than do our driving to the National Forest. Ronny was very professional and knowledgeable. We really appreciate his kindness and willingness to help.

This was an absolute delight of a day. We booked last minute for just my husband and I and they were totally accommodating. We were coming from nosara so we had to drive a bit to meet Jose, who drove us the rest of the way. He was awesome- on time, super friendly, helpful and helped us to keep things moving along in the busy park. He said his only rules were that there were no rules and there was no rush... my kinda guy!! He stopped immediately upon meeting to grab some coffees since it was barely 7am, brought a cooler with cervesas, stopped on the way back for us to grab some gifts for the kiddos. All in all it was a great experience and such a fun day- the tubing especially is not to be missed! I’d highly recommend this adventure and with this company specifically. We just returned home and realized the park never emailed us the photos we paid for but Ariel has been in touch the entire time helping us sort it out. Quick replies and full attention. Zero complaints. We’ll 100% be back with the kids next time and fully plan on hitting up Ariel/Jose. Thanks so much for such a hospitable experience!! Pura vida!!

This tour is great if you are adventurous! Lol. We tried to be but skipped out on zip-lining and horseback riding. We were just too anxious about it. We did, however, do the tubing! That was a lot of fun and the staff was great. We also visited the Oropendula Waterfall which is absolutely beautiful. The hot springs and mud bath was my favorite part of the day!!! Lunch does not disappoint 😋 And Jose our tour guide was awesome. This is my second tour with Playa Grande Shuttle Tours and I will continue to book with them and refer all my friends to them. They are great!!!!

First off, Ariel is amazing! He is incredibly professional and was always available to answer any questions we had while planning our activities for our trip! He picked 2 of our group members up from the airport and they had nothing but positive things to say!! Jose was our driver for the full day combo trip at the National Park and he was also amazing and super friendly!! We had a great day at the park. Tubing was definitely the trip highlight for all of us, so much fun!!! This full day trip was worth every penny and I will be recommending Playa Grande Shuttle & Tours to all of my friends!

I am a planner, and a neurotic one at that. My husband is the same. I take on activities/hotels and he tackles transportation. This year we both wanted to celebrate our anniversary with something big, but didn’t have the energy to commit to it. This is where Playa Grande Shuttles & Tours stepped in and it was one of the best things that we ever did for ourselves. Ariel came highly recommended from two of my closest friends who also like to plan their travels, so I already knew that we were going to be in good hands. One of them even ended up joining us and he took care of both our families seamlessly. Let me also add that we were traveling with children (8yr and 3yr old) - not exactly sunshine and rainbows at all times, but he was extremely patient and made sure everyone was comfortable. For our 10 day stay, he took care care of our transportation to/from the airport, hotels, and variety of activities which he personalized. Everything was top notch. It’s also important to add that although we did a variety of things, he also made sure that there was enough down time to unwind and we never felt pressured to do anything. He was professional, communicative, accommodating, and thoughtful from day one. He’s also an all around great human being and to be honest, he was one of the highlights of our trip. So would I recommend Playa Grande Shuttle & Tours? Absolutely, in a heart beat.
