I'm not even sure where to begin with this review as there are so many good things to say! My mother, sister,and I got together on the island to have a girls weekend. We had a few days on the island before the tour and learned and saw a few things before getting the full experience. Antonio picked us up in Praia the morning of the tour. I wasn't sure what to expect because some tours can we somewhat awkward. We were warmly welcomed and immediately started chatting about the island and our experience so far. Antonio wanted us to be able to see what we wanted as well as taking us to places that are off the beaten path. We were in luck as the weather this day was full of sun and blue sky. This made the views we saw even that much more enjoyable. We learned much about the island through conversation. We also learned that Antonio is very knowledgeable in other cultures. In his tour he compared some of the fauna and flora to ours as to give us a better understanding of what we were looking at. After seeing much of the island we ate lunch at a park. Antonio and his son prepared most of the meal including Alcatra, which is one of the best meals I had on the island. We ate, laughed, and drank wine while getting to know each other. After lunch and one more amazing stop we headed to Adega Simas for some wines and moonshines. Paulo was a great host and had some fantastic wines and moonshines for us to try. These were paired well with bread and jams. The experience was unforgettable! I would recommend to anyone of any age to take one of the ProIsland Tours! You will not regret it.What a great tour! Antonio was fun, informative and very patient with a group of older women. He personally prepared lunch for us and it was exceptional. He even provided honey from his hives and homemade moonshine… after all-We are from Tennessee. The tour was great and I would highly recommend it.
