Overview
Visitors hear: what happened when Hollywood invaded the sleepy village of Cong in 1951; what the film stars were like; how they interacted with the locals; and how the locals became intimately involved in the making of the movie.
The tour includes entrance to The Quiet Man Museum. Visitors can dress up in costume for photos and re-enactments. A great interactive experience full of good old Irish craic.
The walking tour and museum entry last approximately 1 hour. The tour consists of a short, easy stroll around the village of Cong with stops every few minutes at the movie locations.

Both myself and Sean would like to thank Ann for an amazing experience on Sunday 1/5/22. She was so welcoming and helpful when we first arrived at the shop and museum. Ann immediately knew that we love the film and both John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara. We were in the museum and she explained so much to us and with her help we got some great pictures. Her walking tour was so interesting and full of facts and information we weren’t aware of. We had plenty of opportunities to take more pictures in various locations and she brought the film to life for both us and an American couple who were also on the tour that day. Great stories and anecdotes, full of warmth and humour. We had the best time of our holiday for those few hours in the shop, museum and the walking tour. I’d recommend booking in advance online to ensure you are able to enjoy this very unique experience.This is very near Ashford Castle. Good for a photo opp and a drink in the pub. The little village is quite picturesque as is the ruined Abbey

Great tour - great stories - it’s remarkable how every dog in Cong is a descendant of a dog in the movie!!!!
