Valencian paella workshop and visit to the Algirós market
Overview
Do you want to discover the most traditional recipes of Spanish and Valencian cuisine? If the answer is yes, come with us. We are a school with more than 12 years of experience, and from the first day we opened our doors we have made a strong commitment to gastronomic tourism. For us it is exciting and very enriching to be able to transfer a piece of Mediterranean gastronomy to any corner of the world.
We have chefs who are fluent in different languages, so there is no barrier and you can easily discover the most authentic dishes while having a great time, we warn you that there will be plenty of laughter!
Inclusions
- Snacks - Potatoes, bread spikes and ham
- Alcoholic Beverages - Sangria during the workshop and wine during the meal
- Dinner
- Visit to the market from Monday to Saturday morning
What to expect
The day does not start in the kitchen... but rather visit the neighborhood market, Mercado Algirós, where we buy the best and freshest Mediterranean ingredients that are part of our culinary culture. (The visit to the market will be made only for morning groups)
Once you have touched the base of the Valencian gastronomic culture with the essence of the neighbor, it is time to continue with our Paella workshop.
You will make a traditional menu with Valencian paella as the main course, potato omelette and coca en llanda with milk ice cream, a typical Valencian dessert. Meanwhile, you enjoy local wines from one of the best-known wineries in the area.
Lastly, and most importantly, now it's time to eat! Enjoy the food and share your experience with the chef, toasting with wine and sangria!
At the end, the cooks will give you a personalized and newly printed diploma with your group photo along with the recipe for Valencian paella to cook at home.

I am so glad that we decided to try this cooking class. After reading the description, I wasn't sure if it was a demonstration or an actual cooking class. It's a bit of both. The chef allowed us all to participate in the preparation as he explained and demonstrated some of the techniques. We all got to participate in the cooking as well. The chef was knowledgeable and entertaining. And the visit to the market was a nice bonus. The class was a lot of fun. And the meal we made was delicious. I can't wait to try it at home. I would highly recommend this experience. The location was perfect! Great apartment. Loved the rooftop patio. Highly recommend. Lots of markets, shopping and close to the sights of Valencia.

The Paella cooking class was a wonderful experience. We enjoyed being active partipants in learning to make tortillas de potatas, sponge cake and chicken paella. Carlos was an excellent instructor and gave us tons of information about ingredients, techniques and traditions. The meal we created was delightful and we couldn't have asked for anything more.Super!

The staff and chef did a great job, were very friendly and provided a lot of interesting and useful information about Valencian Paella. A 2.5 hour workshop was paid for including a market visit but markets are not open in the evening yet we paid a full fare and the “class” barely lasted 2 hours. It was also felt that the cooking of the single community paella was rushed as there was no crispy rice found on the bottom of the pan. The wines were only of low quality as well.
