As a longtime Charleston visitor, this your was by far the best experience I've had in Charleston. Chef Forrest is knowledgeable, personable, extremely talented, and devoted to local cuisine and ingredients. The walking tour was so enjoyable I didn't realize how much ground we'd covered until after we sat down to the fabulously informative cooking demonstration and delightful lunch with thoughtful, delicious wine pairings. The only distraction was that I couldn't stop thinking of the people I want to bring with us to Charleston to experience those thoroughly delightful experience. I cannot recommend this highly enough! We walked around the French Quarter and historic downtown for about 2 hours. We walked around the French Quarter and historic downtown for about 2 hours. Chef Forrest spoke knowledgeable about the history of Charleston, the architecture the buildings and food. We then enjoyed a 3 course lunch with wine cooked by him and Chef Josh. My husband thought the shrirmp and grits were the best he had ever had. I thought there was perhaps too much bacon in the dish which is really not much of a criticism given the excellent quality of the bacon. Chef never watched the clock, he just entertained the group and ensured that everyone was well fed and all questions were answered. The blending of history, food, and culture made for an amazing tour. To finish off with a great meal was wonderful. The food and the tour was accessible and entertaining.
