Chef Forrest Parker is extremely knowledgeable about the area. He brought the history of Charleston to life! I learned a significant amount regarding Charleston role in the Revolutionary and Civil wars and the influence of the various cultures on the architecture, agriculture, and traditional culinary dishes. He imparted his knowledge with wit and wisdom. We ended our time with the Chef cooking and serving us a delicious 3-course meal with local products that have historic significance to the area. He even shares his recipes and provided helpful cooking tips. I highly recommend this tour!

This tour was a wonderful way to kick off our Charleston visit. Chef Forrest beautifully shares his passion for Charleston, its history, its food, and its people. The walking tour took us to several must-sees, but plenty of hidden gems, as well. The meal that was shared after our walk was absolutely incredible. Everything is locally sourced and prepared right in front of the patrons. My husband and I had an incredible time and would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Charleston.

Wow! What a unique and amazing experience. Chef Forest was both a great tour guide as well as expert chef! He clearly has a passion for both the city of Charleston and for cooking. I was honestly expecting just a short 1-1.5 hour tour, but we toured for 2-2.5 hours, then had a good 2.5 hrs in the restaurant for cooking and dining. The food was of course fantastic and great touch that all recipes were shared after the class. Also appreciated the wine to complement each course! Would highly recommend.

Chef Forrest was a great tour guide, passionate and extremely knowledgeable about all things Charleston, and a lot of fun during the tour. But the real magic for us began when we got back to his kitchen, and he prepared 2 amazing traditional southern dishes followed by an incredible dessert. All paired with excellent wines. He worked around our food allergies with no issues whatsoever. Everything was absolutely delicious. I would absolutely recommend this experience!!

This is my first time in Charleston and I came with my college daughter over spring break. She has always associated her travel memories with food, so this seemed like a great way to see the city. Our group of 10 guests were lovely people from all over the US. It was fun to chat with them through the morning. Chef Forrest is incredibly knowledgeable about Charleston and the city’s history, and will teach you things you would not know to ask with regard to the cuisine of the region. So interesting! He has a wonderful sense of humor and we all thoroughly enjoyed his stories and humorous anecdotes. Lunch was absolutely delicious! He prepared and served a 3 course meal and each was paired with a wine. Everything was so fresh and delicious! He even gave us lessons on how to care for our cast iron skillets! My daughter and I both had a great time and had to take an afternoon nap after the indulging! I would highly recommend this trip. Chef Forrest gives his all to his guests!

Chef Forest Parker is an amazing tour guide as well as a seasoned chef. We walked thru old historical Charleston neighborhoods and ended with a culinary delight for lunch, prepared as we watched, with three well chosen wines to accompany. The five of us loved the tour.

Wonderful tour with Chef Forrest!! We started with a two hour walking tour in the morning, during which we walked around the quaint French Quarter. Chef shared loads of interesting Charleston history, with a specific lens on food and culinary influences. Afterwards, we enjoyed a delicious three course meal with beverage pairings. Chef walked us through techniques and the history of the dishes that he was creating in front of us. It was a treat all around - the food was fantastic and Chef shared so many great cooking lessons. Don’t miss this tour if you’re in Charleston! Thank you Chef Forrest for an amazing day! p.s. his homemade hot sauce is out of this world

Pleasant surprise. What starts out as a routine food tour becomes a rich and entertaining journey through Charleston’s culture, architecture, and history. Chef Forrester’s humorous approach is genuine - not shying away from the cultural complexity of Charleston's rich culinary contributions that resulted from that melting pot of the enslaved, indigenous, and historical circumstances. The meal served up at the conclusion is sourced directly from that rich history. While the meal will vary based upon seasonal availability…our meal entailed chicken “bog”, shrimp and grits, and bread pudding made out of crispy crème doughnuts, macerated berries with lemon curd served on top of toasted marshmallow fluff. He also served carefully matched wines with each dish - delicious. I would highly recommend Chef Forrester to anyone deserving of his magical ride.

Great walking tour that incorporated Charleston history and food. The subsequent informal cooking lesson was superb with pairings of wine and food. My favorite was the shrimp and grits. Thanks, Chef Forrest! We highly recommend this tour and will do again when we are back in Charleston.

This tour and cooking class are a must do in Charleston. You do not need to be a great cook to enjoy the experience but it helps to have a good appetite! Chef Parker is extremely bright and very entertaining! The walking tour is educational and a fantastic way to learn Charleston in depth!
