First of... Chris Platinum Tours is an amazing company. Chris and his manager were very friendly, they communicated before and day of the excursion... and went out of their way to get us what we asked for. Now... Shirley Heights is a complete waste of time and money. Your initial payment does not cover the cost when you get there and/or food & beverages. It is EXTREMELY TOURISTY - and crowded. The lines are overly long and the wait times are beyond ridiculous. Everyone is clamored at the edge to get a good picture... and on a line for food - that is basic - you get 1 piece of chicken, a spoon of potato salad and a spoon of something else. As for the party that's promised... you're entertained by steel-pan music. There is no Party. If you are a young person - this is not for you. To take such a long drive and get to this place is super disappointing. Luckily we had Chris to guide us... and they also stayed with us the entire time we were there. Save your money - don't go on a Sunday. If you are about great views and great food, this place will satisfy. If you are about great views and great food, this place will satisfy. We went on a Sunday at it was very packed, so a little difficult to find a spot to enjoy things at first. Yes, the reggae style percussion music is hitting hard as you walk in. The local Antiguans making the food and the music didn’t seem like they were excited to be there though or maybe they just don’t like tourists. Overall I didn’t feel an awesome vibe here, that may have been because it felt like every tourist on the island was told to go here, but it was something to experience nonetheless. We went on a Sunday just in time for the sunset. Live music, drinks and food as well as local vendors. Very festive feel and breathtaking views

We went on a Sunday evening, and had such a great time. I would advise not going on a tour that will pick you up at 8pm because the reggae band doesn't start until 7pm. The steel drum band was fantastic, but after over 2 hours of it, we were happy the reggae band got started. The reggae band was amazing!! "61 Degrees" may have been their name. Great mix of old and new songs. Loved what we got to see. Drinks are reasonably priced. Corona is $4 US - I think the most expensive drink was $8 US. The food was really good and included salad and a very yummy potato salad. The BBQ area is covered, so it is really stuffy while you are in line. If you are lucky enough to get a seat, the tables are in a covered area, which is good, with the exception that it traps in BBQ smoke. It is very crowded, but you can go off on a couple paths to get some breathing room and more photo op's. The sunset and view was stunning! Overall, it was a wonderful tour. Would do it again, but a little differently next time. Enjoy!!
