This is hands down one of the best tours I've ever been on. I had already been on the volcano tour, which was just as amazing, and I was so excited to go on another. Our tour guide, Dreu, worked so hard to make sure we had the best experience we could possibly have. He always checked in with us to make sure we were hydrated and comfortable. There are so many amazing activities packed into one day, and we were lucky enough to get to swim in a waterfall during rainy season. Our other guide for Waipio valley, Douglas, was super informative and welcoming. The food and snacks served throughout the tour were amazing. These tours were the highlight of my entire trip!Derrick, our driver for the full day, was warm funny and enthusiastic about the Island and made the statistics, history that he shared with us rivotting. Derrick, our driver for the full day, was warm funny and enthusiastic about the Island and made the statistics, history that he shared with us rivotting. We are now convinced that renting a car and touring with s guide book was a waste of time and money. Douglas, who droveus down the 90 foot, 40 degree dropping road into the Waipio Valley. and crossed the Valley rivers in a 4 wheel jeep, provided exciting narrative,I felt like I was on a ride at Great Adventure. His love for the Valley of the Kings was contegous. I reccommend this tour 5 stars. Best way to spend a full day!!Another amazing tour with the amazing tour guide-Dreu. We had already been on the first tour with him (Big Island Twilight Volcano and Stargazing tour) and we loved it so much that we were looking forward to this one! It did not disappoint. Another amazing tour with the amazing tour guide-Dreu. We had already been on the first tour with him (Big Island Twilight Volcano and Stargazing tour) and we loved it so much that we were looking forward to this one! It did not disappoint. This was such a unique and interesting tour!!! Waipio valley is probably the most beautiful place I have ever been to in my entire life. And I’m so glad we had Douglas as our 4x4 guide to show it. A local himself, he had such insight about the valley, its history, his own family stories, and few pranks that only a local could play on someone visiting the valley for the first time haha. A very knowledgeable and cool guide to explore Waipio valley with! A must-do if you visit the valley. Hopping back into the tour van with Dreu, we had some delicious malasadas at a local bakery enroute to the beautiful Akaka falls. Followed by the nice dip in Kulaniapia Falls. They had paddleboards and kayaks if you wanted to explore the falls without stepping into the chilly water. Throughout the tour, Dreu told us stories, folklore and facts about the Big island which we wouldn’t know, had we not taken this tour. Overall, this tour was a beautiful and unique experience, which is now part of one of the best memories we’ve had as a family on the Big Island with our Moku Ohana!Today was an amazing experience, not just a standard tour. Dreu was our tour guide and made you feel like ohana. Our group was slightly downsized by guests with last minute cancelations. Today was an amazing experience, not just a standard tour. Dreu was our tour guide and made you feel like ohana. Our group was slightly downsized by guests with last minute cancelations. This gave us some extra time to experience malasadas at a local shop and spend extra time in a lava tunnel. It's nice to get the insider perspective and recommendations. Would I recommend this tour to friends or anyone else, yes! We were also fortunate with perfect weather. Not that your tour guide can change weather... but he did come prepared with rain coats for his guests. We had a really good time with our tour guide Dreu. He is energetic and funny. The valley’s view is stunning. We saw several wild horses there and they came very close to the van that we could touch them. And we were lucky to go swimming in the waterfall lake. We saw several wild horses there and they came very close to the van that we could touch them. And we were lucky to go swimming in the waterfall lake. Dreu also guided us to walk through the lava tube. It’s a rocky path and some exciting adventure to walk in the tube.Another amazing day with Dreau. Another amazing day with Dreau. I appreciate how he level sets expectations up front- this tour brings you close to nature and that brings a level of unpredictability. Our first adventure was Waipio Valley and Douglas was our area 4x4 guide. What a cool, knowledgable and friendly person. He educated while making you feel like guest invited into his home. We encountered wild horses and Douglas shared how to find local edible plants and fruits. Once back with Dreau, we got a full waterfall experience and an awesome bonus of malsadas at Tex’s. The absolute best part was swimming at Kulaniapia Falls. Wow! Wow!Wow! ( I would wear me suit under clothes if I did this again to maximize time) We had a 16 and 11 year old with us - that experience and Dreau’s knowledge and passion for Hawaii will leave a lasting impression on them forever. Mahalo.
