Drew was a great tour guide. Friendly and knowledge about the waterfalls and keep us entertained throughout the trip. Swimming in one waterfall made it special and the botanical garden was just beautiful. I recommend this trip for my anyone, you'll enjoy it. Thanks for a great adventure.

If you’re looking for a great way to spend a whole day exploring the island, this is it! Dreu, our travel guide kept us group entertained from the moment he introduced himself, to the moment he dropped us off. He is a huge wealth of knowledge, but adds a lot of humor and character to the information (he knows virtually everything you want to know about the entire island (and the others!); be it geological, historical, local, agricultural, past and present culture. We’re always looking to maximize our experience when vacationing from the popular sites, to the lesser known. My husband and I are not easily impressed or entrained (yes, we’re boring), but this experience was absolutely phenomenal! How often have you had the opportunity to swim in a private, beautiful waterfall? We did. The experience at Kulaniapia was one we will never forget. Stop reading hundreds of other reviews and book this!

We loved the waterfalls and variety of the tour. The Bento box for lunch was tasty. The only negative comment was our tour guide Derrick didn’t help or check on the older guests exiting the van/or on hike down to private waterfalls.

Our tour guide was Derek Stuart, and he was amazing! He picked us up at a campground, took us on an amazing tour, and conveniently dropped us off at the airport. He was very knowledgeable about the island and knew the answers to all of our questions. He gave us a tour that fit our wants and needs, taking us to places unknown to most tourists. It was a very authentic experience. Thanks Derek!

The waterfall tour was truly an astonishing experience. Our tour guide, Derek, was unparalleled in many ways. First, the care he has for his guests is evident in the way he treats everyone. He made sure we all had what we needed, always made sure we were comfortable and that we were having a great time. He took pictures for groups, gave personal recommendations for restaurants and other activities/ tours, and gave us potent of opportunities for bathroom breaks. Second, his knowledge of the history of the island is beyond anything we could have hoped for. We learned so much from Derek, even on the drives between stops! Third, he went out of his way to accommodate everyone in what we wanted to do for the day. For example, we all got to decide whether we stopped at a beautiful fruit stand along the way; and who would do no to that?! Besides how great Derek was, the entire day was astounding. We experienced so many breathtaking views, got up close with some truly remarkable plant life and had the opportunity to get once in a lifetime photos! I would recommend this excursion to anyone looking to get outdoors and enjoy some breathtaking sights.

The waterfall adventure was an amazing experience. Derek was lovely! A kind and generous person indeed. He is very well informed on the history of the island and pointed out many things we wouldn’t even think to ask about. He went out of his way to make sure everyone was happy and comfortable and even made some suggestions on where we could get dinner afterward. Aside from Derek’s amazing tour guide, the trip itself was breathtaking. Not only did we see some amazing waterfalls but we also saw a diverse array of plant and animal life. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone looking for a day spent in good company and awe inspiring views.

This tour was absolutely incredible and so was our tour guide Drew!!! I went with my family and we all couldn’t be more pleased with our overall experience. We saw the whole island in a group of 13 and it was such a magical day, leaving not a single stone unturned! I don’t have a single complaint! We saw so many beautiful views and waterfalls and the botanical gardens which was my personal favorite as well as much more. We had a lovely lunch and Drew put so much effort into making sure we were all comfortable and enjoying ourselves though out the entire journey. He was so attentive and knowledgeable about everything on the island. He absolutely went above and beyond to make it so special for each and every one in the group. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel which was so convenient and the van was comfortable and well air conditioned. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who’s visiting the Big Island of Hawaii. 11 out of 10!!!

Arakawa Falls & Botanical gardens and a surprise lava tube were our favorites!! Tour guide, Drew did a great job! Be prepared for a long day!

I highly recommend Wasabi tours, I did the waterfalls tour. I loved that it was a small group and our guide, Dreu was so much fun, he had a lot to say about waterfalls, volcanoes, island history and much more. It was an excellent day with lots of great memories to take away.

We did two tours with Wasabi. Volcanos tour and waterfall tour. Both tour guides were very good and super interesting. Waterfall tour was my favorite and dreu (tour guide) was amazing. Super funny and knowledgeable. I highly suggest the Wasabi tours.

Dreu was an amazing guide for the waterfalls and the surrounding area. Nice narrations and very knowledgeable about the areas that we went through.

Spend a day out in the wilds of Hawaiian waterfalls and tropical bioreserve. Our guide, Derek, has lead tours all over the world and brings such a sense of fun and adventure that he had our whole group participating in the joy and adventure of it all. Our highlight was the private waterfall where we all jumped in - and Derek jumps right in with you! Just go for it!

Absolutely amazing day - 11 hours +/- and worth every minute start to finish - Dreu Basaldua was an awesome guide - knowledgeable about the geography and history of our planned stops and all of the sites in-between, entertaining, and determined to make our experience unforgetable - wonderful picnic lunch and snacks/drinks - swimming at Kaliapia Falls was really special

Great way to explore waterfalls, not too much time sitting in a van without getting a chance to stretch, saw a beautiful botanical garden. Our guide Derek was super knowledgeable, had wonderful stories about the island and was a super safe driver. Would definitely recommend this tour for family or small groups

Fantastic tour. Got to see several gorgeous, soaring waterfalls. Got to visit the stunning Waipio valley. The bioreserve was also incredibly beautiful. Our tour guide Drue was very knowledgeable, funny and engaging. Great tour!

Dreu our guide was great, made sure everyone was involved and had so many interesting facts about trip. Waterfall’s were great and learned so much about falls, towns we went through. Our swim in the private falls was great, we were the only ones there. Would definitely recommend this tour.

I have to admit I didn't read the description carefully enough. While you travel by bus, this is a walking tour and there are plenty of long, steep trails you will have to travel to get the fullest out of the tour. I think that the description should emphasize that. We were attracted by the waterfall swim and for us that was the main attraction. To find out that there was a significant possibility that we could not do the swim once we got on the bus was disheartening. It turned out that we were able to swim but we didn't know that until we got to the site. However, the real gem of this tour was the trip to Hawaii Tropical Bioreserve & Garden. What a beautiful place. It was truly the highlight of the tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about Hawaiian history and the features of the big island.

Beautiful island, great tour guide. Drew was funny and very knowledgeable about everything. He made this adventure authentic and fun. All ages group was fun and able to do this trip. Some steep areas, but good shoes helped. Gorgeous scenic tour. We had great weather and amazing spots to visit including the bio garden and the valley of kings. With many different ages and abilities our tour captivated the entire family. Dreu was amazing. He quickly understood the group dynamics and we had a great time with lots of information.

A great way to see a big part of the Island. Highligts were the botanical guarden and a fantastic swim in a waterfall. Our guide Dreu was fun, knowledgeable and entertaining and told os facts and stories about the island, which made the longer rides feel much shorter.
