Our tour guide was Claudio. What we received was SO MUCH MORE than I expected. The day was perfect in every way (even when it rained was perfect timing because we were getting into the water at that very moment =). Claudio is an excellent tour guide and communicator. We learned a lot during the tours of Muyil and Sian Ka'an. Everything was thought of for us: from providing us cold water in bottles during the tour to bug spray as well as when to change clothes and what we could leave in the van and the boat (during the float portion). Admission/entry fees were also included in our tour package. The communication prior to picking us up at our hotel was excellent as well and the van arrived a little earlier than expected (perfect). Because we were staying just north of Tulum, the travel cost for our party was according to distance from Tulum but that charge was not tallied until the end of our trip and it ended up being a lot less than what was provided to us as the estimate per person for the transportation. The lunch that was included was excellent as well. Floating through the mangroves was peaceful and joyous for everyone in our group (ages 9 to 50), even those who are not comfortable swimming were completely safe and happy ! The bottom of the mangroves is sand, so no water shoes are required (I wore them anyway). It took me awhile to find this tour available to a small group (we had 6 and the tour maximum is 12) on Tripadvisor and Mexico Kan Tours made this possible for me and my family by not over-charging us; it is reasonably priced (many listed are overpriced and do not include the float). Of course, Claudio also recommended other tours for us according to our interests, which I would have accepted if it were only me and my husband traveling because there is a lot of interesting things to do in that area. Photos are of the tower that one can climb at Sian Ka'an and the beginning portion of the float.First thing, our tour guides Jocelyn and Oscar were great. First thing, our tour guides Jocelyn and Oscar were great. Jocelyn gave a lot of history and had great energy and personality. You can tell she loves what she does and Oscar is very helpful, safe and accommodating. Next, the tour was great! It’s amazing to see the ruins. They aren’t as big and polished as Chichenitza but these are also less people and ALOT of shade. The float through the mangroves was relaxing and easy. All the while Jocelyn offering information. We highly recommend this tour, we had no problems, they were on time and delivered as advertised. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Tulum. Salvador was a pleasant tour guide. He gave his 100% acknowledging our group which included two very impatient kids who were "about to die" under the heat and severe humidity. We felt disrespectful at times attending to the kids and not giving our full attention to him, but he kept his professionalism throughout. The swim at the end of the tour was such the best and what we had all looked forward all day. Loved this tour. It's a MUST when in Tulum! You cannot miss out on this experience while there.
