Highly recommendThe tour and our guide, Julie, provided a wealth of information about the region and wine making there. Very informative. Tasted some very good wines of the area and left with some for use later. Altogether a great way to spend an afternoon.

Our trip with Bordeaux Wine Trails had originally been planned for April 2020 so our visit this weekend was long anticipated! Because of Covid, we have had lots of conversations with Jonathan over the last couple of years and my partner also began to order some wines from the Wine Club that BWT set up during the pandemic - so we had high expectations for the tour and the wine! We were met by Julie our guide who was fantastic. We visited the Chateau Haute Sarpe and had a short tour of the grounds and got some history of the vineyard - I really liked the idea that the Chateau invite their clients to pick the grapes during harvest and the passion for the work and the wine was evident from the Chateau representative. We then went to their shop in St Emillion for a tasting. It was interesting to try 4 very different wines - different years, different price points, different vineyards - and discover what we liked and didn't. We did buy quite a few bottles, though there was no pressure to do so. We then had a short tour of St Emillion, a beautiful village. Julie shared some history, and we visited the cloisters and one of the churches. We were unable to visit the monolithic church as it has to be a guide from St Emillion who does that, it would have been nice to see but was not big issue! Our final stop was to Chateau Grangey with the owner Franck who shared his approach and gave a tasting of 3 of his wines. These were excellent. We had a tour of his site and shared a bottle of one of his wines with some food - a perfect way to end the tour. Overall, it was a fantastic afternoon with a generous guide who responded to lots of questions and the opportunity to try some delicious wines from the region. We hope to come back to Bordeaux next year and will definitely be doing another tour with Bordeaux Wine Trails when we do.This was a wonderful wine tour!
