5 minutes from the Arches, connecting Santa Teresa to Lapa, there is the famous Selaron steps, a stairway decorated with colorful tiles. Known for its energetic bohemian vibe, “Lapa” is the most buzzing area in town day and nighttime. Arguably the most colorful area in Rio to drink and taste the best typical food.

A must-do tour for every Rio traveler! We were traveling as a group of two and experienced culinary highlights and many sights of the city. Our guide Camila picked us up at the hotel and surprised us with homemade brigadeiros. We started together with the metro and returned by Uber. During the tour, she gave us great insights into different food and drink locations and provided us with delicacies from Brazilian cuisine. On the way in Rio Downtown and in the Santa Teresa district, Camila explained all the sights to us, so that it almost felt like two tours in one. The timing was perfect, so that in the evening we made it to a magnificent vantage point and the Selaron stairs in time. The music there rounded off this great day.
