This is a great museum and an excellent introduction to the history of Sorrento. We found the talking figures so informative and the experience of the eruption in Pompeii was just so memorable. It brought home the terrifying sounds, darkness, gases and hot mud which killed the poor victims. Do go...
This is a great museum and an excellent introduction to the history of Sorrento. We found the talking figures so informative and the experience of the eruption in Pompeii was just so memorable. It brought home the terrifying sounds, darkness, gases and hot mud which killed the poor victims. Do go at the start of your stay as it will enhance your visit.Although a couple of the media exhibits were interesting, and the model of Sorrento was beautifully made, it was just vastly overpriced for a museum of this size and type. Really enjoyed seeing the history behind some of the local sites and legends. It gave an added perspective to our holiday. Kids enjoyed it too. People were friendly. Well worth a visit if you are interested in the history of Sorrento.

We are very glad we visited and would recommend this museum to anyone who would like to understand more about the history of this beautiful city.We really loved this museum. It’s really well set out and covers so many aspects of the history of Sorrento. Our guide spoke excellent English & was very informative. We particularly loved how it ended - think Vesuvius!

The guide spoke English very well and answered all of our questions. The built models were extremely detailed and the visual effects were amazing. It gave a great overview of Sorrento and her history.
