What to expect
After feasting on delicious food and dessert, you’ll have time to relax, enjoy an Egyptian drink, and chat with family members to learn about Egypt’s culture and what life is like for women in the Middle East. This is your opportunity to ask everything you want to know about Egyptian life, so don’t be shy!
Your private Cairo food adventure will introduce you to true Egyptian hospitality, traditions, and even the local sense of humor as you sit back and sip a cup of Egypt’s famous mint tea or Egyptian coffee. If you’re feeling competitive, have a go at a game of Backgammon – but be warned, it’s hard to beat an Egyptian at their favorite game!
Once you’ve finished your evening and experienced the genuine warmth of this Egyptian family, you’ll bid ma’ salama (goodbye) to new friends.

Reham and her family were absolutely lovely. I was the only guest, so I had a private cooking lesson. The food was amazing, and Reham along with the UA guide helped me practice my arabic a bit as well. I saw her wedding album, her daughter Habiba showed me her drawings, and we danced and laughed after the meal. Reham even gifted me with a lovely scarf at the end of the night - a super special souvenir from my time in Egypt that I will always keep. If you are looking to really experience Egyptian life, and do more than just wander through the tourist sites, I would highly recommend this experience. It's wonderful to sit down and chat and really learn about the place you are visiting. I'm so glad I was able to step inside a real home and be made part of the family for an evening. There's so much more to Egypt than the tombs and the temples! The people are wonderful and this was also my best meal of my 2 week trip :-)We had such a nice evening with our guide Marwa at the lovely home of Eman’s with her family. Such kind and generous people to have you into their home and show you how to prepare a few traditional dishes, and enjoy a yummy feast while talking and getting to know one another. What a wonderful night! I had such a special time, and I felt so welcomed into their home. We had a delicious meal, and it felt even more special to have it during Ramadan. I felt like an immediate member of the family! It was a really great opportunity to spend some time with an Egyptian family, and to ask any questions that popped into my head. If you are interested in getting to know a little more about Egyptian culture, and so see what an Egyptian home looks like, and to share a home cooked meal with a local family, then you would absolutely love this experience! It has been one of my favorite nights in Egypt so far, and I would highly, highly recommend it!!Absolutely loved spending an evening with Reham and her children Habiba, Ali and Omar.
