Pompeii Ruins w/ Two Vesuvian Wineries
Overview
You will start from the ancient ruins of Pompeii, where an archeological guide will take you on an exploration (2 hours) of this ancient city while painting a picture of what life was like during one of the most important empires of all time: The Roman Empire. The site of Pompeii is a true gem frozen in the year 79, which allows us to jump back in time and touch a piece of history as it was nearly 2, 000 years ago.
After the guided tour, it will be time for the Italian in you to come alive and embark on your tour of Vesuvian wineries with a driver who will take care of you for the rest of the day. The wineries we'll be visiting are all in the National Park of Mount Vesuvius, known for its fertile volcanic soil and giving us the grapes only produced here. The result is the famous Lacryma Christi (Tears of Christ), a wine most equivalent to that of which the ancient Romans enjoyed.

The Pompeii tour was great. Theresa gets 5/5! They were super helpful when I was worried I'd be late and our guide was very knowledgeable and humorous. The first winery, Sorrentino, 2/5. They had no interest in interacting with us and any time I asked a question about the wine, the winery, the history, anything, I was given a very short and insincere response. I was not there to get drunk, I was there to learn about the winery, the wines, the methods, etc and we were given our samples, no conversation and then a price list was dropped off. Would not recommend. The second winery, Bosco De'Medici, 5/5. We walked in and were immediately greeted with genuine hospitality. We were shown the way the wine is made and explained the process. We were then treated to delicious wine samples, with a conversation about each one, and delicious food. I absolutely felt like their guest and this winery and it was a lovely experience.Due to the bad weather we couldn't really do the horseback riding. However, Giuseppe promptly offered other options and they did not fall short of the expectations. We had a great meal with wine tasting in two wineries and met great people. I would recommend any experience with Giuseppe.

Our Pompeii guide was very friendly and gave us great insight into the ruins and life in the ancient city. Followed by two winery tours with excellent wines and atmosphere, this made for an unforgettable experience.

Everything so well organized and our group had an amazing time even despite the rain. Our guide through the ruins was very knowledgeable. The wineries were fantastic and our driver was very flexible in letting us even stay for more wine after the tasting! Would recommend 100%!
