Pass By: City Wonders, 00100 Rome Italy
Location
Stop At: Pompeii Archaeological Park, Porta Marina (via Villa dei Misteri), 80045 Pompeii Italy
The eruption in AD 79 spelled a fiery end for Pompeii, but the catastrophe also almost perfectly preserved the port city under layers of Volcanic ash. Thousands of years later, you can still explore the eerie streets and step inside homes, bathhouses and fast food places on your guided tour.
You’ll travel from Rome to Pompeii in an air-conditioned private coach, accompanied and entertained all the way by your expert tour leader. Skip the line at Pompeii and head for a leisurely self-led tour around the city which paints a vivid picture of life in final days before the eruption. Throughout the ruins, you’ll come across harrowing death casts: plaster recreations of unfortunate citizens preserved by the superheated volcanic ash.
Duration: 2 hours
Stop At: Vesuvius National Park, Via Palazzo del Principe, 80044 Ottaviano Italy
It’s a short coach ride from Pompeii to the foot of the volcano that still looms above it. A half-mile hike from the parking lot takes you right to the sometimes still-steaming crater of Mt. Vesuvius – still perhaps the most dangerous volcano in the world. Stand at the epicentre of that ancient disaster and feel awe at the utter devastation it must have caused, to blast an entire city off the map for millennia. Then turn and enjoy the contrast: the crater offers the most stunning view of the sun-drenched Bay of Naples.
In the winter months, when Vesuvius is closed for hiking, the tour travels from Pompeii to Naples, with panoramic views of the volcano and historical commentary from your tour co-ordinator along the way. You’ll have ample free time to explore Naples – a city as vibrant and alive as Pompeii is quiet and affecting – before the comfortable coach returns you to Rome.
Duration: 2 hours
Pass By: Amalfi Coast, Amalfi Coast, Province of Salerno, Campania
***If Amali - Positano option selected***
After some free time for a few last pictures of Pompeii and lunch (at own expense) the tour will continue further south along the picturesque seaside roads of the Amalfi Coast where the Dolce Vita was born. Here your breath will be taken away by the spectacular coastlines as the mountains cascade into the sea and romantic villages climb up the mountains like grapevines.
Stop At: Positano, Positano, Amalfi Coast, Province of Salerno, Campania
***If Amali - Positano option selected***
The winding roads will lead you to one of the most beautiful seaside villages that the Amalfi Coast has to offer, Positano. Here you will have free time to explore the meandering streets lined with artisanal local shops or just sit back and enjoy the incredible view while sipping the local specialty, limoncello! Whichever you choose you will be sure to remember your afternoon in this jewel of a seaside village.
Duration: 2 hours

Our group sadly didn't get to go to Mount Vesuvius and instead the tour took us to a cute costal town to walk around in. Which was also nice. Our guide in Pompeii was very knowledgeable and engaging. The earpiece communication was mostly alright, there was one point at which the earpiece had a lot of static as it was catching another groups frequency but in general, a wondeful experience and a nice way to see more of Italy without having to plan the minute detailsThe tour was good but a lot of time on the bus (5 hours). The Mount Vesuvius trek is well worth the effort but it isn't for the faint hearted! Wear good walking shoes or trainers!! All in all, a very long but enjoyable day.
