It was very good experience. Though it was cloudy weather we were able to see northern lights. They took us south west of Rovaniemi where is a little hilly place with 40-50 minutes of bus drive. I wish sky would be clean. Thank you.

8th September 2019 This was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. The trip as a whole was more than I could have imagined, thanks to Anthony who was an amazing guide, so knowledgable and made us feel at home in the wilderness. The view from the hill even before the lights appeared was unbelievable, when the clouds cleared the stars were so bright I'd never seen so many stars before! Then the bonus of seeing the Aurora was just mesmerising. We stayed out for an extra hour hoping they would appear brighter, and it was on the drive home that we witnessed a show that I can't even describe! There's no other way of describing it, you just have to experience it! Even if we hadn't seen them on the way home, we would have been more than happy with the excursion because it was still such a unique experience. Also it was so much fun to have the sausages and drinks around the fire, spotting moose and wild rabbits on the way home, and getting dropped back outside our hotel room door, I couldn't recommend this trip enough. Thank you, thank you! Re the photography, it really doesn't matter if you don't have your own fancy camera as they send you the photos that the guide takes! Also I managed to capture some lower quality images using my iPhone, after downloading a night camera app which enabled me to change the exposure & white balance settings, so please don't be put off if you're not a professional photographer!Professional and friendly group who were very well prepared for the tour - cold weather clothing and boots were readily available and they took the time to explain the phenomenon to everyone and assisted with personal photographic gear.

It was a really good experience overall. Altho we didn't see the Northern Lights because those are not in control by anyone from Lapland Welcome and u rather need to be a bit lucky and get the right activity, the tour was really good. The tipis with the lappish barbecue and the location of the place was really outstanding. somewhere deep into the lappish forest, on a hill, great visibility overall, higher altitude, overall an trully amazing experience. Nicolai also gave some really on point camera settings for night photography. Totally recommend !I visited Rovaniemi with my mother and before our arrival we contacted Helios Tour because of their large variety of activities. I visited Rovaniemi with my mother and before our arrival we contacted Helios Tour because of their large variety of activities. Firstly, Elena was super sweet and always very quick to reply. She was able to accommodate all of the things we were interested in doing. They were ALL extremely punctual, most tours included some sausages which were yummy and everyone was super lovely. The highlight was definitely our Photography Tour with Greg! As photographers ourselves who had already had the opportunity to shoot the Northern Lights, we really enjoyed all the knowledge exchanged with him, he was constantly checking where would be the best locations for us to shoot and so he could drive us there. He was very thoughtful as well, my mum's tripod was broken and he went out of his way to lend her one! At the end of our tour he took us to the Helios Tour's cottage by a lake which was incredibly cozy and such a good place to have some tea after a night of shooting at -32°C. Highly recommended!!! Below is one of the pics taken during the tour.
