Apartheid Hostel Visit
> Hear the heart-rending stories of great-grandchildren of migrant workers that lived in the ‘bachelor flats’ whilst their wives and kids worked at farms many kilometers.
> Learn the history of apartheid
Art and Craft Market Visit
> Walk through the art and craft market where you have the opportunity to buy locally made art and craft. These include:
*bead-work,
*stone curving,
*wooden sculptures,
*wire art and craft and many more.
*traditional dresses
African Witch-doctor visit
This witchdoctor is available for consultation by all visitors at a minimal price. Since Africans are very superstitious, meeting the witchdoctor will make you understand township life from a spiritual viewpoint.

See how the township transportation system works. At the taxi rank you will see many small businesses selling their wares and services including braai (barbecue). If fortunate, you might even catch some free public performances by local musicians and artists.

Reading about the townships in South Africa is one and visiting is totally different. On our visit of Langa we were brought face to face with township life. It was a great experience as it involved party driving with most of it covered on foot. The interaction we had was totally amazing as we were taken around by a Xhosa tourist guide Zamile who grew up in the township. He took us to the first township hostels and we had an opportunity to interact with the locals. This was a well planned tour by Raw Tours. We also visited an African witchdoctor which was quiet fascinating Lots of history and culture to learn. Highly recommend.Sirdicchi

Langa was an interesting place; we met some locals who shared some stories about the place with us. We were taken around the township by Remi and his team to see some arts and crafts; which we thought deserved some recognition as they were so amazing. While in Langa we were treated to some Africa...
Langa was an interesting place; we met some locals who shared some stories about the place with us. We were taken around the township by Remi and his team to see some arts and crafts; which we thought deserved some recognition as they were so amazing. While in Langa we were treated to some African food. This tour to Langa was very humbling as we learnt a lot about one of South Africa's townships. If you haven't visited Langa; I strongly recommend that you do ;as there is so much to see and experience there.
