What to expect
Day 1: La Paz to base camp of Huayna Potosi(4730m.)
Stop At: Huayna Potosi, Milluni Bolivia
We leave La Paz and drive Laguna Zongo (4730m) where we unpack in the refuge which serves as our basecamp. After lunch we head to the base of the nearby glacier (45 mins hike) to practice basic ice climbing technique (use of crampons, ice axe, etc.).

Accommodation included: We will spend the night at the PUMA CONDOR refuge at 4730m.
Day 2: BASE CAMP(4730m.) TO HIGH CAMP(5130m.) Huayna Potosi
Stop At: Huayna Potosi, Milluni Bolivia
Today we hike to our high camp: the Mountaineer’s House (5130m). This should take 2-3 hours after which we rest and have an early night in preparation for tomorrow.

Day 3: SUMMIT HUAYNA POTOSI(6.088m.) and RETURN TO LA PAZ CITY
Stop At: Huayna Potosi, Milluni Bolivia
We set off at 1AM and almost immediately meet the glacier. There is now a slow and steady 5-6 hour climb to the summit (6088m), from where we have wonderful views of Lake Titicaca, the Altiplano, and the rest of the Cordillera Real. We return to high camp by the same route, pack up our things, and carry on down to base camp where a car will be waiting to take us back to La Paz

We did the 3-day Huayna Potosi expedition. We chose this company because they were the ones giving the most clear information at a very reasonable price. We went with Pedro and Jose and they made us feel safe and comfortable at anytime. We almost reached the summit except for the last 100 meters since there were a lot of soft snow.
