There's nothing like tasting fresh, warm halloumi cheese straight out of the pot and on this small group tour there will be plenty to enjoy throughout the day! You'll be picked up from a Larnaca location of your choice and driven into the Troodos mountain countryside to the cheese-making workshop of a village local. You’ll take part in the process from start to finish and the experience will end with a delicious brunch which will include the cheeses made plus lots more.
The activities don't end there as you'll be taken further into the mountain villages to visit other local producers and the quaint village of Lefkara. During this afternoon of exploring you'll taste Cyprus olive oil, local honey, traditional sweets along with other delicacies!

What to expect
A fantastic way to explore with a local! A guide from our team will pick you up from a Larnaca location of your choice and you’ll be driven into the Troodos mountain countryside to the cheese-making workshop of a village local to learn the traditional technique of halloumi and anari cheese making. You’ll take part in the process from start to finish while spending time with true locals. This hands-on workshop ends with a traditional sit-down experience where you'll enjoy a delicious brunch which will include the cheeses made plus lots more.
We'll then continue our journey into the scenic mountain villages to visit a honey producer, traditional sweets workshop and a local making products with donkey milk. Part of our touring will be a visit to Lefkara village where you’ll see the local ladies making the famous Cyprus lace plus time to shop & explore.
Any applicable entrance fees, tasting fees, door-to-door transport, traditional brunch, coffee & drinks are all included in the tour price.

- This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 6 travelers
- Confirmation will be received at time of booking, unless booked within 1 day of travel. In this case confirmation will be received as soon as possible, subject to availability

Am besten hat uns die Käseherstellung gefallen, aber auch die Honig- Und Olivendegustation war super. Alles in allem super! Gutes und (viel) Essen :-) und schön waren auch die vielen Tierbegegnungen :-)

All worked amazing. From the pick up in the morning all the way through the entire day Our guide was the lovely Helena. She was super nice, patient, well known of the area Very helpful and full of knowledge. She took us through the beautiful villages of the trodos mountains, visited lovely places

My partner and I did the ‘Halloumi heaven: cheese making class and & Troodos mountain villages” tour which was hosted by Aikaterini & Theodora We started off the tour by visiting the monastery of st Thekla the healer which was a gorgeous monastery, lots of beautiful plants and flowers. We head...
My partner and I did the ‘Halloumi heaven: cheese making class and & Troodos mountain villages” tour which was hosted by Aikaterini & Theodora We started off the tour by visiting the monastery of st Thekla the healer which was a gorgeous monastery, lots of beautiful plants and flowers. We headed from the monastery to the halloumi making place, got to see the process of making halloumi and anari Cheese from start to finish while also helping out, sadly there was less cheese eating than expected but got to taste the halloumi we made which was delicious. We also saw the farm and fed the goats that are used to produce the milk for the cheese. We then made our way to pano Lefkara which is a small/medium sized village located within the mountains, the views were absolutely stunning and we visited a local embroidery and silver store where we learnt about the history of embroidery and silver within Cyprus. After the village we stopped at a Bee farm which produces local honey, very educational and amazing tasting honey! Finally we stopped at Golden donkeys, we got to feed and pet a variety of animals such as baby goats, donkeys and chickens. Personally I’d say the welfare is lacking a little bit but that is out of the tour guides control. Staff at the Donkey farm were very informative and provided a range of samples containing products produced at the farm. Overall it was an amazing tour and would highly recommend to others, hopefully when we are next in Cyprus we can find another tour with Cyprus Taste Tours as the guides were very helpful and provided a lot of information on the local areas.martys831

Wonderful trip, the Haloumi making was the best until we went to the bee farm and then it was hard to pick of the two, when we went to Lefkara I had to admit the whole tour was wonderful. Thank you to Evie for making it a trip to remember.
