Mind boggling sight! 3 miles wide and almost 1 mile deep, a gigantic hole where a mountain used to be. Nice setup for visitors. All outdoors except a small gift shop so plan to be in the sun for half an hour or more. Walking is minimal, no stairs. Temperature is up to 10 degrees cooler than downtown Salt Lake City, breezy. A little more than half of the time is driving but it’s broken up into sections and the longest stretch is maybe 35 minutes.Our trip was canceled because of inclement weather. But the good thing was we were refunded. We were really looking forward to seeing the copper mine.

My daughter and I went on a rainy day and still had a great time. You get to the Mine and take a small bus up the windy road and you get out and look out over the incredible sights of the mining. There is a very interesting history on boards where you learn everything there is to know about the mine. Would like to go back on a nicer day too. Their gift shop was quite nice too. I would more than likely try and go again if in that area again but was disappointed it was cancelled and the mine didn't give notice.Great trip and tour guide. Lots of interesting information.
