Check-in at Reef Fleet Terminal. Check-in commences at 7.15am and ends at 7.45am. The boat, Evolution, will depart at 8am sharp.

After boarding your deluxe boat, your Great Barrier Reef day trip starts with the boat ride from Cairns out to the reef—one of the fastest rides from Cairns.
Depending on the weather and water conditions on the day of your tour, the captain will head to one of 12 exclusive moorings, providing you with the best possible on-the-water experience that day.
Upon arrival at your first reef location, either Saxon or Norman Reef, it’s time to snorkel and dive! Hop in the water with your provided equipment and discover the underwater world full of multicoloured fish, coral, and other marine life. Your guides help you to get fitted with snorkel and scuba diving equipment, and provide instruction and encouragement to beginners and the experienced. Your friendly and knowledgeable crew is always available to help you enjoy your time in the water.

After a morning of water activities, it is time to enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by the crew. Enjoy a BBQ lunch prepared on board with fresh fish, steak, a variety of salads, and prawns. Special dietary requirements can be catered for too including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and vegetarian. Please notify the operator at least 24 hours prior to travel.

At the second reef location, North Hastings Reef, you can snorkel or dive again. If you prefer to stay dry, you can still check out this World Heritage-listed underwater world on a semi-submersible tour with live commentary by our marine biologist (own expense; payable on the day of your tour. Semi-Submersible is operational again from the 19 December) or from above with a 10-minute scenic helicopter ride (additional cost).

- Check-in is from 7.15am at Reef Fleet Terminal, 1 Spence Street, Cairns. Please make your way to the Down Under Cruise and Dive counter to check-in. Boat departs 8.00am sharp.
- Not wheelchair accessible
- All divers are required to complete a Medical Questionnaire. In a commitment to the safety of our guests, divers over 65 years must have a medical clearance with a physician the confirms they are Fit To Dive. Please be aware that certain medical conditions (e.g. asthma, heart disease, diabetes) and ANY prescription medications will require a letter or email from a doctor clearing you to dive. This clearance must state your full name, the doctor's name and practice and the clearance to dive for the specific medications/condition. Please review the operators Medical Questionnaire and Terms & Conditions prior to travel.
- Children aged and under 12 years (introductory) and 10 years (certified divers) are not permitted to participate in onboard diving activities as per Queensland Australian Law.
- Children under the age of 18 must be in the immediate company of a parent or legal guardian.
- For Certified Diving, evidence of dive certification is required from all divers wishing to participate in a certified dive.
- Near public transportation
- Diving within 24 hours before your flight is not permitted.
- Infants must sit on laps
- Due to comfort, weight and balance of the aircraft, the weight limit for helicopters is 130kg. Please contact the supplier directly for further information.
- Most travelers can participate
- Special dietary requirements must be confirmed at least 24 hours prior to travel directly with the tour operator. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free options are available.

We did this trip for 2nd time after 2007. The boat trip to the great barrier reef was great as well as the snorkelling and submarine experience. I was able to snorkel on my own despite being a weak swimmer and see great reef and sea turtles. The boat was packed to 100% capacity and understanda...
We did this trip for 2nd time after 2007. The boat trip to the great barrier reef was great as well as the snorkelling and submarine experience. I was able to snorkel on my own despite being a weak swimmer and see great reef and sea turtles. The boat was packed to 100% capacity and understandable due to Easter and post Covid rush. Food was tasty and adequate but average for the price $249 per person. More veg food can be provided. The operator swim instructors should try to better guide novice and weak swimmers. Full safety precautions were taken. We would have paid for the guided snorkelling tour but was booked out on arrival at boat and would help for company to inform prior that spaces are very limited. It was fairly clear that the boat and submarines are getting old and will need some upgrades. But we recognise that tourism industry has been hard hit and is recovering. We would be more then happy to go back again. Note Covid social distancing and mask precautions were not required.9325hibam

Very organised from the start to the end. You just need to take your adventurous spirit with you! We did two stops, the first one was a bit of a challenge because the waves were high and the water wasn’t clear. We saw the reef but not very clear. It was a bit hard to breathe through the snorkell...
Very organised from the start to the end. You just need to take your adventurous spirit with you! We did two stops, the first one was a bit of a challenge because the waves were high and the water wasn’t clear. We saw the reef but not very clear. It was a bit hard to breathe through the snorkelling kit because of the waves again. My advice is to choose a sunny day for a clear vision. The second stop was absolutely amazing! The reef was very close and you get to see all sorts of fish. It’s just breathtaking! The food was very good and more than enough. Changing the wet suits was a bit of a challenge but there are toilets so not too bad. Just take a plastic bag and put your clothes and a towel in the pigeon holes outside so you can access them and they don’t get wet.
