Alban is a gem of a tour guide! My son and I originally wanted to do this 6-hour Gjirokastra tour, but our ferry schedule left us just a little short of time. So we booked only shorter Blue Eye tour to be safe. Upon mentioning this to him at pick-up, Alban immediately said that he could customize the Gjirokastra tour a little to fit our schedule. We were thrilled to be able to do this longer tour, and Alban got us back to port on time as promised. All of the stops on this tour were so interesting – the fascinating history of the castle (the German cannons are bigger than the Italian cannons), the culture of the bazaar, the interesting story of the Skenduli house where you learn about life as an upper-class family in the 1700’s, and then finishing with a visit to the beautiful Blue Eye springs nature park. Plan to have lunch at the restaurant out on the dock if your schedule permits – such a gorgeous view, delicious food, and a relaxing end to a wonderful day. Alban is very friendly, full of great information, and a wonderful conversationalist. We wish him much success as he grows his tour business! We got to see a lot of different sceneries on our trip and Alban could answers all the questions we had during the car trip. We got to see a lot of different sceneries on our trip and Alban could answers all the questions we had during the car trip. We started out with a tour in the castle and really enjoyed to hear about all historical events. In Gjirokastra we also went to Skenduli House, where we got to se how they rich people lived about 100 years ago. It was a big lovely 300 year old building fitting 25 persons. On our way home we went to Blue Eye, it looked amazing. If you don’t mind cold water you can take a dip here ;) We are looking forward to see Alban agin for a new trip in a couple of days 😎I travelled with my 2 teenagers and it happened to be younger kids birthday, so our expectations were high for this day. I travelled with my 2 teenagers and it happened to be younger kids birthday, so our expectations were high for this day. Our guide was very friendly, we talked a lot during the car rides about all possible subjects. First we checked the Gjirokastra Castle, after that our guide suggested visit to Skenduli House - I loved this place! Last visit was the Blue Eye, which was the even better than in pictures. All the attractions matched our expectations, but our guide made this experience more than perfect with his kind soul, good knowledge and ability to chat. He even gave a small birthday gift to my son, which he still carries with him. I highly recommend Rei Tours for any trips near Saranda. Encore merci Alban !
