Eat and Drink Like a LOCAL : Restaurant, Tavern & Ramen Tour
Overview
My tour focuses on Ueno, which is not as crowded as Shibuya and Shinjuku and is less touristy. It is also famous with Japanese foodies for good quality at lower prices. I'm going to take you to popular bars and restaurants for ONLY LOCALS (NO TOURISTS!!) where the staff speaks only Japanese. I will order signature dishes, and we will discuss the food and drink (and you can pepper me with questions).
We will visit 3 restaurants/taverns, where you will sample sashimi, grilled fish and skewered meat. You will also have the opportunity to try UNIQUE Japanese alcoholic drinks (4 or more different type of drinks) and you'll be able to experience what Japanese taverns are like. After visiting these three taverns, we will end the tour at a great Ramen shop that is popular with locals. At the end of the tour, I will take you to the entrance of each train line, depending on where you need to go
Inclusions
- Dinner - ALL DRINKS and FOOD are INCLUDED in the fee. You will have 5 dishes included RAMEN in total.
- Alcoholic Beverages - You have 5 drinks on the tour.
- You are going to have a small souvenir porcelain cup, using one on the tour.

I am going to teach you about Japanese alcoholic drinks and foods you'll be able to experience what Japanese taverns are like.
I'll explain all dishes I order and you can pepper me with questions - ask me anything you want to know about the food and drinks on the menus of the places we visit!
Afrer we have fun in a couple or three of my favourite and the most outstanding taverns, we will head to a ramen shop.

I had a wonderful time with Aki. He makes everyone feel welcome and part of the group. This is a good snapshot of the hidden places around Ueno which is much less crowded than the other parts of Tokyo.

Aki is well known and well liked by all the folks around the amazing backstreets of Ueno. Thanks to him, I made new friends with Tokyo locals and even went out with them after the tour, adding an incredible value to the experience. Be ready to eat a LOT of amazing food and drink a wide variety of Japanese drinks—some of which you can’t get anywhere other than Tokyo itself! Absolutely wonderful tour. I would recommend it to anyone—whether you have been in Japan before or this is your first time, you will get so much out of it.
