Our tour guide, Akira, was incredibly nice, friendly, and exceptionally funny! Initially, we thought the tour was a bit pricey, but it proved to be well worth it as we got to sample a variety of dishes and several alcoholic beverages. There was enough alcohol to get everyone a bit tipsy! :D Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed this tour. I highly recommend it for those who have just arrived in Japan and are looking for a great starting point to explore the food scene.

Aki’s tour is so much fun and a good introduction into eating in areas away from the tourist path. We had lots of fun with our group and the “mystery pork”.

"Aki, our guide, was so much fun! There was a lot of "kanpai's" that night as he took us to several little bars. We had a great group of travelers who quickly became friends. We ate until we were full then we all went out afterwards. Great time.

Good food and drink tour, host very energetic , most of the drink centered around saki though , which isn't really the only drink I wanted to sample

Our guide was amazing and energetic and had a lot of energy, but I didn’t really think this was an all the way “eat like a local” thing. On another tour we had hibachi and yakitori. Where we cooked the food ourselves. This is huge in Japan, and don’t understand why it was left out. Also the last stop should have been karaoke. They took some really bad looking pics of us when we weren’t looking at the camera why I dropped a star.

Akira was the best guide ever for our Ueno dive bar experience. Not only was he charming and funny, he enlightened us thoroughly on Japanese food and culture. He took us into fun places we never would’ve found on our own, with excellent food and drinks. I never expected the multi coarse dinner we were treated to, followed by all the fun found after that. Come hungry! Highly recommend this tour!

We had an amazing time in ueno. We walked around while listening to Ari tell us about the history of the food and the surrounding buildings, in total we visited three restaurants. We started drinking as soon as we met haha. Although we had a relatively large group (12 ppl), Aki and KiKi took good care of us and made sure everyone enjoyed the experience!

This was the highlight of my trip! I was alone in town for the weekend, and I'm so glad I booked this. Our guide was humorous and high-energy, and being with a group of about six people wandering around town gave us the opportunity to bond. We enjoyed delicious food and saw a bit of the town. I did a similar activity the following day, and it was not nearly as fun as this one. For the amount of food we had at the price, it was a great deal. Highly recommend and many thanks! Tip: The meeting place is just outside the train station, which is a MASSIVE station. You'll have to follow signs throughout the station, but give yourself enough time in advance.

Fun night of tasting local food and drink, and plenty of it. Aki is great guide with a fun sense of humor.

This was an amazing tour. Aki is an excellent tour guide and the stops on the tour were well thought of. The food ans drinks were all great. I would highly recommend this tour for all visitors to Tokyo.

We were out with a largish group (20~ people) with Aki and his assistant and had a really fun time on our first night in Tokyo! I won’t spoil the evening but rest assured you will be fed, watered and shown some true Japanese hospitality! Take the tour and enjoy the night ;)

This was a fun group tour of some off-the-beaten path restaurants and bars in Ueno. Aki was fun and accommodating and the atmosphere was great.

A great way to meet new people while trying some great food that you otherwise would never know about! Aki is an amazing host and is very knowledgeable about all things Japan. Over my wife and I had a blast!

Aki was amazing. The tour has been the highlight of our trip. It had a little bit of everything. The food, the drinks…all were great. Definitely a worthwhile and must if you’re in the Ueno area.

The food and drink of Tokyo and Japan is unique. This is the way to experience this. Multiple restaurants to sample all the wonderful tastes. The guide was a kick, so much fun. We also had a great tour group, that helps.

This tour was amazing. Aki-san was very entertaining and funny throughout the whole tour. Definitely recommend this for others to try if you want to try some good food in Ueno which doesn’t get the same attention as say Shinjuku. Also go hungry as you will be stuffed by the end of it. Plenty of drinks too with the food. Only thing I wish for was better weather as it was freezing outside but other than that it was a fantastic tour.
