Fair Score: ***** Real Experience ** Let me Explain: The Staff's performance in this company is measured based on Reviews here. Our driver was Fida Hussain. He *really* deserves the full 5 stars because he did an outstanding Job (more about that later).. However: The total experience would be a 2 star review. IN SHORT; The Daytime activities were really great. However: The evening at the desert camp. Not so much. FULL REVIEW I did a desert safari several years ago and liked it. Coming back to Dubai, I wanted to share this experience with my friends, who never came here before. We got picked up nicely on time by mister Hussain. On our way, Mr. Hussain told us different things about the country and the area and also answered any questions we had. After a drive to the Red Desert we arrived at a street where many companies had their base of operation and also a lot of small restaurants and shops are present. There are some vendors trying to push wares on to you. They are not as pushy as in the Dubai Souks, and leave if you say no. However: Their memory sometimes seems to be a bit short since we got asked 3 times if we wanted to take pictures with a Falcon, even though we already did that the first time. (not something I would usually do, but I watched the guy before he approached me and the bird seemd to be very well kept). First we wend dune bashing in the red Desert. Mister Hussain did a great job here and it was a lot better than what we did a few years ago. Along the way we had some stops for pictures and sandboarding. Which is a lot of fun. Mr. Hussain really gave us a great time here. After it, it was time for Quad Ride. One of the reasons I chose this tour is that the Quad Ride was already included in the price. You can ride around freely in a closed area. Unfortunately that area is relatively flat and if you have a bit of experience with Quad driving, it might be boring to you. Mr. Hussain gave us a tip that there is an option to actually go into the desert with a guide. At upcharge of course. The price was 150AED per Quad, which is not cheap for the upgrade, but definitely a fair price considering we had a guide for our own (not sure if that is standard). Mr. Hussains Tip was very good, we really enjoyed the trip through the desert. We had a lot of freedom to get to know the quads and make a crazy trip out of it. So if you're a bit familiar and handy with a quad, I would definitely advise to go for the upgrade. After this we went to the desert camp. The camp was very obviously run by a different company and many other camps were nearby. This was not the case several years ago. Back then we had a choise between a genuine Beduin camp, or a more modern version. Back then we chose the classic style. In 2022 it seemed rather difficult to find this. Most tours show picturs of camps with tables and chairs. Not exactly your genuine experience. So a major reason for my to choose this tour, was that I saw pictures of people sitting on pillows at low tables. The camp delevired on that, but also had sofas with tables. Unfortunately: that was the only thing that seemed a bit genuine. The stage was modern with a truss system and multi color leds. There was an audio system that could probably work on a medium/big festival. The shows got announced with way too loud pop music. Many blinking LEDs in all different colors.. No better way to ruin an authentic experience than with modern tech like that. Of course I didn't expect a live band (we didn't have that last time). But there was really no reason to turn up the music so loud, or use LED's in every color. Until here it would have been a 3 star experience. But then came the food. The bar was opened to buy alcohol. But when we wanted a soft drink (included) we couldn't get it because we had to wait for 15 more minutes until show/food starts. The buffet had cold and warm dishes.. well. it was supposed to have cold and warm dishes, but in reality they were all cold. The meat we got was one chicken wing and a very small piece of meat. It was tasty. But extremely little. However: Even before we could finish, the next show was already starting. My and my friend rushed over to the buffet, that got closed down already, - now If you think we were just slow eaters or late the first time to the buffet. No. Mr Hussain told is just before opening to go there now (again a very good move), so we were the first to get food and had most time to eat it.. It was still too short. We slipped in in time to get food with the employees. This time we got 2 small skewers as meat. Again: Tasty, but small. However: Together with that the food was enough, but you had to fight for it. Ironically: The second time around the warm food at the buffet was actually warm. The last show was the fire show. Which was OK. After it was down we were asked to leave by the staff. We didn't even finish our desert yet. Again Mr. Hussain came to the Rescue and told us to just keep seated and relaxely finish our food and drinks, while other companies were rushing their customers out. We enjoyed for a few minutes. Eventually Mr Hussain took us back to our hotel were we arrived safely. So for anyone reading the whole story: I'm sure you can understand why Mr. Hussain deserves 5 stars for taking really good care of us. Even though the total experience was sub-par.. As a matter of fact. I think the practice of This company to rate there employees based on Reviews is Despicable. Because how the Desert camp works is completely outside the control of Mr. Hussain, yet it is a very important part of your day.The quad ride was fantastic! The desert safari was very nice! We stopped for some photos and could slide down a sand dune!
