The cycling is easy and relaxed, and you can stop for photos at your leisure. It is like cycling around with a friend and not being on a tour. We will continue to use Butterfly Tour, a worthy organisation. We really enjoyed the tour offer by Butterfly. Our guide Chenda was really nice, friendly, speaking very good english. The local places we visited (noodle factory, sugar palm, artisanal cakes) were really good with no tourist. perfect to meet local people and to enjoy the landascapes. Thanks to your smile and motivation Chenda, we had a really good time !We did the half day tour in Kampot: Backroads of Kampot. We had a great experience with a great guide, Chenda. We booked the half day bike tour in the backroads of Kampot through the Butterfly tours website. We received a confirmation instantly, and the day before the tour another confirmation email was sent. We were picked up from our guesthouse at the agreed date and time. We were brought to a small office, where we were received by our guide of the day, Chenda, and a trainee guide (forgot his name, sorry !) who would be showing us around (2 sister women). The bikes were in good condition with a basket for our bag, and a helmet. The tour was not strenuous (all flat roads) and brought us to several stops where we could see small family businesses (pancake biscuits, fresh rice noodles, roll cakes), a lotus pond, a palm sugar collector on the way and a buddhist monastery. We received cold water and a fresh sugar cane juice on the way. Both guides were very friendly, good English, with a lot of explanations about local habits, history etc. We really enjoyed the bike tour and would highly recommend it as an authentic activity when staying in Kampot ! This is a local organisation ran by Cambodian students that we happily supported. Thank you Chenda and friend !Great experience exploring Cambodia countryside. Great experience exploring Cambodia countryside. Our guide (Chanda) is very friendly and energetic. I asked him to take pictures of me with focus of the countryside view in the background and he poured his heart into it. I took the tour when rice farming was in its harvesting stage so I didn't get to see the green rice paddy but it was nobody's false. Overall it was very educational. We got to interact with the locals. I felt my money was well invested in a good cause. What a great way to spend 4 hours - cycling through the Kampot countryside. What a great way to spend 4 hours - cycling through the Kampot countryside. My tour guide Rithy was very friendly and helpful, providing constant information (and jokes) as we trundled from place to place. We visited several local families in the countryside and saw them variously making local foods like noodles, roll cakes and pot cakes. We finished with a really relaxing chat at a monastery on the river. The trip was easy to do and not expensive and really worth doing if you're in Kampot.
