Great cycling tour, this is our 3rd trip to Cambodia and our 4th cycling tour. It did not disappoint. Lots of local crafts shown, noodle making, basket weaving, palm sugar making. We visited pagoda, and cycled around local areas. Loved all little children shouting hello and waving to us. Basket weaving was my favourite, and we brought a basket. The weaver was very grateful, we were very pleased to support her hard work! Big boy recommend this company nice friendly staff, a good time had.

An excellent tour. Our guide, Te was knowledgeable and friendly. It was a good mix of places we visited and a good amount of time spent at each one. I really enjoyed getting to meet local villagers and get a taste of what their lives are like.

A very good Time here with our local guide "T" (wouldn't dare to try to write your name). A good way to discover kampot's countryside and locals while exercising. We had the chance to meet with differents families, each of them having their own traditional activity to show us : traditional basket creation, noodles making, palm tree sugar harvesting... And our local guide Always here to answer our questions and presenting us the local culture. Would do it again without a doubt, great way to discover the culture while getting Closer to Kampot's inhabitants.

Our guide, T, was a great guide - engaging, knowledgeable and has an obviously strong connection with the locals families we visited along the way for rice noodle making and basket weaving.

Really enjoyed this cycling tour with our guide Thi. Glad that it started early and was an easy ride of around km as it was a very hot morning. You get to ride though local villages and stop at a temple and a few local businesses.

Fantastic half day bike tour seeing the beautiful countryside around Kampot for family with 2 teenagers. Our guide had excellent English and not only shared information about Cambodian life but also stories about his own upbringing. Even though it has been pouring with rain we managed to dodge the rain visiting noodle maker, basket maker and temple along the way. Amazing how quickly we were out of Kampot and onto the back roads. Highly recommend and saw so much more than in a tuk tuk. The people were all so welcoming. A highlight of Kampot!

An excellent cycle tour of families local to Kampot who are working in traditional Cambodian family enterprises. The three hour tour took in family groups making noodles, local biscuits and palm sugar, as well as basket-making and other sights such as lotus flower ponds and a nearby Wat. Tee was an excellent guide with good English and some personal stories to tell as well as explaining the traditional ways of the families we visited. There was an opportunity to try your hand at basket making and also to try the delicious biscuits hot off the charcoal burner. A good trip, but recommend the morning as it gets hot, hot, hot around lunchtime.

We really enjoyed our tour, the bikes are top quality and it’s great to see things off the beaten track. I think our younger two children were perhaps a bit too young with the heat, but for families with children 8+ it’s a great insight tour to traditional Khmer practises.

We had a fantastic bike tour round Kampot, seeing different local crafts including weaving and noodle making. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and could speak excellent English. We got plenty of water for the trip and were given a meal at the noodle producers which was included in the price (not suitable for vegetarians though) Our tour went at a great pace and wasn’t at all rushed- in fact we were actually back later than planned because we had been talking so much! I would definitely recommend!

The tour is a must see when in Kampot! I had so much fun with Rithy, he taught me a lot of knowledge about Cambodian life, culture and traditions. It was breathtaking just cycling through Cambodian villages, but I also got to experience the local life of Cambodians through their crafts. I saw how fresh noodles and sugar cane is made, how woven baskets are crafted and got to see the amazing rice fields. I highly recommend this tour!!!

Fantastic tour! My guide, T, was simply amazing! Super easy to talk to, extremely knowledgeable, light-hearted, and fun! I enjoyed getting off the beaten path and seeing “real” Cambodia life. The multiple stops offered such cool experiences: I got to see palm sugar made, I actually learned to weave a basket (w/hands-on experience!), I saw how rice noodles are made and got to enjoy the delicious soup afterwards, I learned about and visited rice paddies and finally explored a temple and leaned a lot about Buddhism. What a great experience! Highly recommended.

This was a brilliant tour of the back routes and villages of Kampot. Seen as its late January I knew the rice paddies would be dryer than in the wet season so there was no issue there like a few of the other tourists reviews. We wanted to see the lives of the locals, how they live, what they do to support their families and to learn about their culture and that's exactly what we got. Our tour guide Rithy (apologies if spelt incorrety) was just a joy to be with, always smiling, very knowledgeable and always looked after us everywhere we went. We were also quite lucky that their was just myself, my wife and Rithy so it was quite intimate and we could stop at any point on the route to take a look. The highlight was seeing and talking to the local children, they were very curious but also spoke simple English and was just delightful. The only gripe was that the seats needed a little padding to make it more comfortable but that doesn't take away the beauty of the tour. Many thanks Rithy for your efforts and for answering all 1,000 questions we had. I just want to end this review by saying if you want to see all things pretty like you would expect to see in a more developed country then there is no point going on this tour. If you want to learn and witness how the locals really live, their craft and the beautiful culture and hospitality then this is definitely the right tour for you.

Rithy was a fantastic guide on this tour. He was funny, personable, and a good singer. His enthusiasm to share why he is proud to be from Cambodia was contagious as he shared cultural rice wine, rice planting, and rice noodle practices. We also learned a lot about Kampot’s history at the temple and little fun facts about Pursat: the province where he is from. Learning about how to weave bamboo baskets and getting hands-on experience was a real highlight too. This tour was well-organized and a great way to experience the surrounding Cambodian countryside in Kampot. The company owners are also so friendly and give great recommendations for other stuff to do in Kampot and around Cambodia. The morning weather was perfect, but I recommend taking the tour in the afternoon if you can so that you can try the famous Khmer noodles rather than just learning about them because the family makes the noodles in the afternoon.

I was lucky enough to be the only one on my tour and also lucky enough to be Koem Sieng's first official customer to guide through the backroads. He and our VIP (Very Important Photographer) Sam Ath were perfect and made my trip one of the most fun things I've done in Cambodia so far. The route was fun, the people we met along the way were welcoming and so friendly, and making Koem Sieng take embarrassing photos of us doing peace signs in a rice paddy was a great bonus. I highly recommend these guys and this tour, they are superb. Even Sam Ath breaking into a Michael Bublé song at the end couldn't spoil the experience! ;)

I spent one morning with Sam Ath around the countryside in Kampot and I had a great time ! The landscapes were beautiful and Sam Ath was really nice. He gave me a lot of information about the daily rural life in Cambodia. I really enjoyed having a glimpse of the real-life of the locals. I also liked the fact that Butterfly Tours is a locally-run company, with people happy to share their knowledge about their country. I highly recommend the tour which was really worth it !
