Me Encanta Oaxaca is a small family project run by Betsaida Lopez Diaz, a local born & raised in Oaxaca. This project started with the simple wish to share the world the beauty & cultural richness of Oaxaca state.
As consecuence, Me Encanta Oaxaca is a phrase that expresses how much we like it and we believe that once you live Oaxaca, it’ll cast a spell on you.
I'm not only proud of my roots, but also I'm committed to support the local consumption of cooks, mezcal makers, artisans & more in order to I promote a sustainable tourism in the different spots and communities that we visit. What to expect
Join the Authentic Oaxaca Food Tour, eat like a local on a 5 hour food walking tour, taste more than 24 typical Oaxaca foods at the 3 main markets and street food stalls, while we talk about culture, history, gastronomy, traditions and we walk through nice places.
During the tour you will discover why Oaxaca is one of the most important gastronomic destinations in Mexico, where corn is the main staple food and is served in a seemingly endless variety of ways.

- Infants must sit on laps
- Not recommended for travelers with back problems
- No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
- Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
- NOT SUITABLE FOR VEGANS, BABIES OR UNDER 12 YEARS OLD.
- This is suitable for the Vegetarians that can walk in the meat market area or can stand to see others to eat meat.
- Vegetarians can be accommodated IF LET US KNOW ABOUT THEIR VEGETARIANISM 2 DAYS BEFORE OUR TOUR.
- If you have food allergies or food restrictions, you should mentioned 2 DAYS BEFORE OUR TOUR to do accommodations.
- If you let us know about your allergies, restrictions or vegetarianism a night before or at the meet up, there won't be any change in the menu according to your restrictions.
- If any of the participants arrive drunk or with hangover symptoms at the meet up, we'll ask for to leave for everybody's comfort and for the person itself and the ticket payment won't be refunded.
- It's super important and your responsibility that you take care of yourself from illness, stomachaches or hangovers, etc. There’s no money refund from any of the previous topics.
- If someone is detected with 37 ºC of fever or more, will be invited to rest in his/her hotel & the money will be refunded.
- If guests cancel part of the experiences during the tour, there won’t be any refund.
- Me Encanta Oaxaca reserves the right to cancel or modify itineraries, schedules, and excursions for causes beyond its control, with no responsibility other than to refund the amount paid by the guest, total or partial, as the case may be.
- Me Encanta Oaxaca will not be responsible for delays, irregularities, and damages caused by third parties, as well as for social or natural events beyond its control.
- Me Encanta Oaxaca apologizes for any eventual delay due to traffic on the roads, protests, closing of roads.
- Me Encanta Oaxaca is not responsible for the loss of valuables in public or private transport vehicles due to the customer's carelessness.

Betsaida did a wonderful job introducing us to the flavors of Oaxaca! We ate so many different things-many just tastes-and saw 3 key markets of Oaxaca. This was a terrific thing to do our 1st day to also get our bearings on the city and what we wanted to go back and see more of.

One, yes, this is a long tour. It's in the description before you book. I loved that about it. Betsaida was passionate about everything we ate and knew so much about the history and the area. Having a local guide is so important. So yes, you do stop in different areas and discuss things other than food. But I think it helps to put the food into context. Two, seriously, show up hungry. She warns you ahead of time. Listen. You eat so much food! I wish I'd known about the other classes offered because I probably world have signed up for those, too.
