We had an amazing time on our tour with Betsaida! Make sure to bring an appetite and an adventurous stomach as you will taste dozens of items, from every type of street food and drink you can think of, to native fruits, and delicious roasted insects. You are provided with water, cutlery, tissues and hand sanitiser before each food. The tour takes you all over Oaxaca and Betsaida's passion and knowledge is clear. She makes it her mission for you to leave her tour armed with the all the knowledge you will need to make the most of the rest of your stay. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone!

This tour is fulfilling in every way. You will get a broad overview of Oaxacan cuisine, history, and culture and your stomach will be full by the end of the day and into the next. I highly recommend that you take this tour at the beginning of your trip so you can retrace your steps. (You will be provided with a list of every dish and drink you consumed at every stop.) I appreciated Betsaida's attention to detail, providing us all with our own set of utensils and attending to hygiene at every stop. And it's a great way to support multiple women-owned businesses with one tour.

This tour is a must! Betsaida took great care of us. We not only tasted amazing food, but we also learned about Oaxaca's history and culture. After our tour, Betsaida sent us a listing of ALL of the food that we tasted. You simply have to take this tour!

Absolutely adored this food tour! Our tour guide Betsaida was phenomenal in her knowledge and organisation of the entire tour (which she runs by herself!), she took us to so many spots at a nice, easy pace and we got the chance to sample an array of authentic Oaxacan food that we just wouldn’t have been able to on our own. We also got to visit 3 markets (again, would not have known about these or been able to do this in the short time we had in Oaxaca!) which were really cool to experience, definitely the highlight of the trip! Cannot recommend this enough and thank you again to Betsaida who is a gem and looked after us all so well - if you’re short on time in Oaxaca but want to try all the foods then this is the tour for you!

This was an excellent tour! It took about 5.5 hours and covered so much, including food, culture and history. It was also well-paced so as not to get too full! Betsaida is charismatic and full of knowledge! She was also in touch before the tour to make sure everyone was well prepared for the day and sent out a list of food and information she had shared during the tour afterwards. It was great to try so many local foods, meet local vendors and get to know some of the other people on the tour. Highly recommend!

Recently went on a tour with my mom and felt obliged to share our wonderful experience. We’ve been to many places and on a lot of tours and this was top notch. 1. The variety and flavor of the food introduced and the progression from morning to afternoon was perfect. Tasty, authetic local Oaxacan food. We tasted so many different foods, drinks, etc. Impressive. 2. Tour was very well-prepared, and there was no wasted time. 3. ⁠Our lovely guide (Betsaida) and the owner of the company was extremely passionate about her heritage, knowledgeable, sweet and has a lovely sense of humor that binds the group. Part of the experience is just hanging out with her :-) Anyways, I wanted to say thank you Betsaida and give some credit when it’s due. You are an example of someone that loves what they do and it’s both infectious and refreshing to see.

Our tour guide, Betsaida, was a delight! High energy, knowledgeable, and eager to highlight the rich cultural and historical influences of Oaxacan cuisine. The food we experienced was wonderful; at each stop Bethsaida provided background info on ingredients, preparation, and the region of origin. We tasted a variety of indigenous fruits, items from established/well known street vendors, and a fantastic sit down grilled meat meal at the Mercado 20 De Noviembre. In addition to offering info on Oaxacan food, our guide provided her insights on local crafts, regional history, languages and dialects, and other cultural influences of the area. All together, a fantastic day and highly recommended!

All I can say is WOW! This was the best thing we did in Oaxaca. Betsaida focuses on pre-Hispanic food, culture and traditions. It’s amazing to find out how much culture around you in Oaxaca is 500ish years old. The food was incredible and so delicious. Not too much, just the right amount. We came away from the tour with a great understanding of the layout of Oaxaca city, and felt empowered to hit the markets on our own. I have a much better understanding of Oaxacan cuisine now. This is a must-do!

The food on this tour was very delicious, tour operator was very knowledgable and handle all food served with most hygiene possible for street eating, There was a great variety of tasting, from breakfast to drinks and desert, to Mescals tasting, and even a variety of local interesting insects and fruits, I thought it was the great way to experience Oaxaca and its main streets, markets and food.

Amazing experience worth every penny!!! Our guide was Bethsaida and she was lovely and fluent in English. We walked all over downtown making several food stops and learning the history and ingredients of everything we were eating. We went to three markets and tasted so many local fruits and vegetables that are not popular or know. In the USA. We had time to buy some of the products used in our meals. They were very sensitive to food allergies and special needs or tourists. What am amazing experience this tour was we loved it!!!!!

A FANTASTIC tour! Betsaida was so knowledgable about her culture and the city of Oaxaca. It was wonderful to be able to meet and eat at REAL local places. A lot of fun, and lots of incredible food and drink. I just wish I had a bigger stomach 😉 I highly recommend this tour to anyone going to Oaxaca.

Betsaida was 100% the best part of the trip! She was wonderful and knowledgeable and made the whole day fun and memorable. She was recommended to us by other travelers that we met. She asked the group at the end if we had any suggestions to change about the tour and everyone practically shouted ‘No’. Everyone said ‘1000/10’ tour. Recommend doing it at the beginning of the trip because then she gives you an amazing restaurant list and places to visit list after!

The best food tour, or general walking tour, I’ve been on in years of traveling. Bestiada is knowledgeable, funny, and caring. Amazing food and history. She has timing and quantities of food perfectly paced. Highlight of our trip.

This food tour was absolutely fantastic! We ate so many different things from breakfast tacos on the street to tamales and mexican hot chocolate in teh market, a tropical fruit break, finishing with crispy crickets and smoked meats and vegetables at smoking alley. The whole tour was so well prepared - we were given tote bags with water and cutlery and given hand sanitiser at each stop. Betheseda our guide/host was such a warm and brilliant host and she made us all smile and laugh with her anecdotes and foodie knowledge. If I'd had more tiem in teh city I would dfeinitely have done a cookery class with her too. Just bear in mind that it takes up a large chunk of the day and that you spend less time in the famous markets.

Best tour in Oaxaca hands down - book with Me Encanta Oaxaca!! If you do one thing in Oaxaca - do a food tour with Betsaida. We did a food tour and absolutely loved it. She is incredibly knowledgeable about her home region - history, culture, food, etc., and she is so good at conveying her knowledge in an engaging way with humor too. She accommodated a food allergy expertly and made everyone in our group feel comfortable. We tried street food and market food that we wouldn’t have otherwise (visiting from US and sensitive stomachs) - the food was delicious and no one got sick in the slightest. Amazing tour - highly recommend!!

The tour took us to spots across the city that we could never have found on our own, and provided a sampling of the best Oaxaca has to offer, which is saying a lot! All the food was truly delicious, and charming Betsaina provided clear, detailed explanations of ingredients, regional sources, and complex flavours. A memorable and really fun experience, not to be missed!!

If you can only do one thing in Oaxaca then make it this tour! Wow! What a wonderful 7 hour culinary journey through the wonderful city of Oaxaca.

Smoke alley was cool, we enjoyed Betsaida's knowledge of the area, and appreciated the tips on things to do and see.
