Go on an unforgettable kayaking trip through the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge on the Outer Banks. A true Outer Banks treasure kayaking amidst the natural beauty of the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge, home to an old logging and whiskey distilling community during Prohibition. Who knew the OBX had black bear and endangered red wolves? Also see snowy egrets, great blue herons, and turtles.

I enjoyed the kayaking. As a newbie I got decent instruction from the guide prior to taking off. We didn’t see any critters but it was really hot so they were likely hiding. The only problem I had with the tour was the guide. A very nice girl but she spent most of her time talking to the people in the back and pretty much ignored the people in the front.I cannot say enough about how much we appreciated Olivia our tour guide! She was very sweet, extremely helpful, and a great tour guide. I will be recommending kayaking here to anyone who will listen!

We went out on this kayak tour yesterday. The area where the tour takes place was very nice, but our tour was crowded with 16 people for a single guide. With all those boats out there, there was practically no information shared since the guide was usually very far away. We only saw a single gator, even for that I had to stay behind the group to see it. I am not surprised that gators hid from such a large group. I would look for an operator next time that guaranteed a small group size.This was great fun! Scotty did a great job getting us prepared for the trip. We saw a baby alligator, an adult alligator in the weeds and an adult gator mid-river. The guide was helpful in picture taking and in providing some history of the area. Highly recommended!
