Many great photos and memories. Thanks for a wonderful day.Ray had a well laid out plan for our tour and was welcoming to all. The monkey park and bamboo forest were a hit for my 14 year old daughter. Ray’s passion for all things Japanese and ability to share this knowledge while enjoying our ride made the trip our best in Japan.

Our guide Ray, one of the owners of Kyoto Bike Tour, was simply amazing. This bike tour was one of the highlights of our Japan trip. It's a great way to explore the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest specifically. We participated as a family of four. One of the four doesn't bike very often and our youngest daughter was 9 years old. It was very approachable for everyone. I recommend this tour without reservation. You won't be disappointed.A fantastic way to see Kyoto, you cycle through parks full of locals playing baseball, along the Katsura River, and to unique destinations like the bamboo forest, monkey reserve, Shinto shrines, and kimono forest. A fantastic way to see Kyoto, you cycle through parks full of locals playing baseball, along the Katsura River, and to unique destinations like the bamboo forest, monkey reserve, Shinto shrines, and kimono forest. The bikes are new and comfortable, the route is comfortable and easy, and Ray is a very knowledgeable and patient local, with a good eye for photography, and an adorable daughter who dropped by to say hello. Book this trip before it fills up!This was one of our favorite experiences in our 2-week trip to Japan. Our guide Peter was knowledgable and relatable. This was one of our favorite experiences in our 2-week trip to Japan. Our guide Peter was knowledgable and relatable. It felt more like a conversation with a local (because he is!) rather than a generic "tour guide" experience. We loved the places we went to and the way we experienced this part of the city. Note that this bike ride was relatively easy--slightly hilly in one part, but anyone can do it--but there is a congested part of the trek over a bridge where you just need to keep your wits about you with the foot traffic and cars. (For this reason, I I probably wouldn't recco for kids under 8). But really, this is a MUST DO if you have 1/2 a day! Peter took a ton of great photos for us too, which made this easy to just enjoy!I booked this tour through Trip Advisor over 30 days ago and was confirmed. I booked this tour through Trip Advisor over 30 days ago and was confirmed. One week before I leave for Japan, the tour operator informed me that they do not actually have any space on this tour on the date I booked it. They were not able to accomodate the only other time I have available in Kyoto. I am very disappointed since so many thinks have booked since I made this reservatiopn
