From the start until the end of the trek, everything was wonderful and extremely well organized. We had a small group of three (me, my son and another woman who we got along with very well!). The guide Faustino was amazing with information, getting along with local people and giving good hiking support!! We also loved the food that was like ‘haute cuisine’ with a traditional Peruvian menu! The rest of the crew (driver, horseman and assistant) all did their very best to give us the best experience of this Alpaca Expeditions Tour! The landscape, meeting locals, the Machu Pichu were even more beautiful then we expected! My son of 14 could exercise his Quechua, much to everyone’s surprise! Highly recommend 👍🏻Alpaca expeditions was nothing short of amazing. I had my reservations with coming to a foreign country and backpacking through the Inca Trail. Alpaca expeditions was nothing short of amazing. I had my reservations with coming to a foreign country and backpacking through the Inca Trail. Isao, Sergio, and cirprian were so encouraging throughout the entire journey. They maintained professionalism and taught us the “Inca way.” I learned so much about the Peruvian culture because of them. Juan’s team (the porters) were hard workers, carried so much weight on their backs, and were still so encouraging throughout the entire journey. Their hard work did not go unnoticed. Each and every individual has made an impact on my journey and I am so thankful I chose Alpaca Expeditions. They ensure ethical weight distributions, fair pay, and even employed women porters! We had a cooking class in our last night (thanks Armando and Salomon!) When I come back, I am choosing to hike with Alpaca again!Amazing experience surrounded by very professional people. Amazing experience surrounded by very professional people. Edward guided me and the group through the mountains in a very safe and attentive way. His knowledge about Inka-civilization, Peruvian culture and traditions, nature etc. is great, and as a tourist on Lares Trek you are left with not only an amazing nature experience, but also a greater understanding of this amazing country. Edward is a very social person, who loves his work in the mountains. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Food during the hike was amazing cooked by Teofilo. He kept surprising at every meal, and it’s probably some of the best food I’ve had while in Peru. Gregorio and Isabel made sure that all our stuff was transported from base camp to base camp, and that our tents were all set up the minute we arrived to base camp. Amazing service and incredible to see how fast they are able to climb the mountains. All in all a great experience, and I would definitely do it all over again. We went to Huarán throght Condor's pass from Lares with Edward and was amazing! He gave us that extra value of explaining us about everything we could see around the trail. He is so nice that you forget that you're going with a guide and it seems like going with a friend.
