3-Hour Japanese Cooking Class & Walking in Todoroki Valley
Overview
In our activity, you will experience a Japanese cooking lesson from an expert instructor with years of culinary experience and the beautiful hidden gem of Tokyo, Todoroki Valley, the only valley in the 23 wards of Tokyo.
One of the great aspects of this cooking lesson is the hands-on nature of the experience. You won't just be watching the instructor cook; you'll be with them, chopping, stirring, and seasoning alongside them.
Also, recipes are easy to follow, and you can recreate the dishes at home. Whether you're an experienced home cook or a complete beginner, you'll find the recipes simple and straightforward, with plenty of helpful tips and tricks.
Finally, our instructor uses homegrown vegetables and herbs for the freshest and most authentic taste possible.

Tomoko-San is such a gracious host, with a great sense of humor and a wonderful demeanor. She has a beautiful home in a quiet and pleasant area of Tokyo. It was a hot day, so she served delicious cold mint tea and apple juice from Nagano-Ken. We made Gyoza and Ramen, both of which turned out great! She also served matcha ice cream with seasonal toppings and fruits for dessert. I’d highly recommend this class; it was an immersive experience, and a welcomed reprieve from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. Thank you so much, Tomoko-San, for your patience and hospitality! クリントンThe cooking class was a great experience! The cooking class was a great experience! We were able to find the meeting point easily and the cooking class began after a short but lovely walk through the picturesque neighbourhood. Tomoko was a great host; everything was perfectly prepared and we had a lot of fun learning how to cook "okonomiyaki". It was delicious as well! We also enjoyed the home made plum wine and the cold green tea served at the beginning of the class. We had a great time learning about Japanese culture and cuisine and we thoroughly enjoyed the very friendly atmosphere and hospitality. From start to finish my experience with Tomoko went beyond my expectations. She contacted me prior to my trip to see what I wanted to learn how to cook and adjusted the recipes for my food allergies. We were met by Tomoko at the train station and walked through the beautiful Todoroki Valley to her house, where we enjoyed an afternoon of cooking, eating and enjoying a nice bottle of wine. On the way back to the train, Tomoko took us to the Todoroki Fudo Shrine, the local grocery store and sake shop. I could not have asked for a better time and whenever anyone asks how my trip to Japan was, one of the first things I tell them about is this experience. Truly unforgettable!!I've got to tell you about the super awesome time my family and I had at Casa de Tomokita's Japanese Home Cooking Class in Todoroki Valley! I've got to tell you about the super awesome time my family and I had at Casa de Tomokita's Japanese Home Cooking Class in Todoroki Valley! Seriously, it was such a blast from start to finish. So, picture this: we meet Tomoko, this incredible Japanese cooking chef who's all smiles and knows her stuff. Right off the bat, we could tell we were in for a treat. We rolled up our sleeves and got down to business making some top-notch ramen and the tastiest gyoza ever. And let me tell you, even with the four of us – with our varying cooking skills (let's just say, I'm not exactly a master chef) – Tomoko made the whole thing a breeze. She's got this knack for teaching that's so chill and fun. There were definitely a lot of laughs and high-fives as we tried to fold those gyoza just right. But the best part? After we whipped up our culinary masterpieces, we sat down together and dug in. I mean, come on, who doesn't love enjoying good food with good company? It felt like a family meal even though we just met. And here's where things got even cooler. Tomoko was like, "Hey, you wanna see some local gems?" And we were like, "Absolutely!" So off we went to explore Todoroki Valley. Just imagine this peaceful spot amidst the city buzz, with all this greenery and a babbling brook – talk about serene vibes. We got to check out a shrine in the Todoroki Valley, and let me tell you, it's a stunner. Gardens that are basically picture-perfect, and a feeling like you're in a whole different world. Tomoko clued us in on how the locals pray and make wishes there, which was something I'd never really understood before. It added this extra layer of appreciation for the culture. Listen, if you're into food and good times, you gotta hit up Casa de Tomokita's class. We're a fam of four, and everyone – even the little ones – had a blast. It's not just about learning recipes, it's about making memories and connecting with awesome people. So, next time you're up for a delicious adventure and wanna dive into Japanese cooking while having a laugh, this class is the way to go. Trust me, you won't regret it!
