We did a 2 day private tour with Mr. Thean as our tour guide. On the first day, Mr Thean had arrived promptly and was waiting at the Hotel Lobby at around 8am. Once we got in touch with him he had taken us to Angkor War as per our tour plan. He had explained to us every minute detail about the temple and was very learned about the history of the temple. We clicked loads of pictures and Mr. Thean's creativity in clicking photos was astonishing. He took good care of us and kept us hydrated all the time with regular short breaks for recovery. However, he was keeping a good timing. At 1 pm he had completed the tour of the temple and we broke for lunch. The restaurant he took us served us good local food and was clean and well decorated. Thereafter we had visited few other temples in the same campus and when Mr. Thean had understood that we were tired. He had took us back to the Hotel for taking rest and we had concluded our day around 3 pm. The next day we had requested for the Angkor Temple sunrise though it was not a part of the initial plan. But, the tour guide was very accommodating. However, when we woke up it had started and we would see the sunrise at the Angkor Was Temple. So we started our next day at 8 am and visited the Kpal Spein. Again, though it was not a part of our tour, when we had orally requested him to show us the 1000 lingas, he was happy to show us, at a small extra cost. We were really happy to visit Kpal Spein. Then we had visited few other temples on the return and on the return we had requested him if he could take us to the floating village, which we had planned to visit on the 3rd day and which was not a part of the tour we booked. However, again without any hesitation they had accommodated us. So then we stopped for lunch at another restaurant which served excellent Khmer food and then he had taken us to the floating village. This Tour Company I should honestly say, completely understand you and keeping you happy seem s to be their primary objective. Thanks to Mr. Thean and his team that we had completed more than what we wanted to see in those two days and we could have an entire third day for shopping and relaxing. I would highly recommend this tour company and if your engaging them, try to get hold of Mr. Thean. Also, do not look for any other tour company and hesitate for any reason to engage Angkor Special Tours. I am sure whatever be your queries, they are very responsive too.We did a 2 day tour of Angkor starting with the small tour on the first day. We booked the tour with Pin Vannak and had Thean as a guide accompanied by "Tuna" the driver. The tour was well paced and allowed us to discover and appreciate the beauty of the place which is quite unique. Thean is very passionate, energetic and his enthusiasm kept us super engaged throughout the whole tour. We all became expert about the different Hindu tales related to each temple as Thean has a fascinating way to tell the stories which kept us always very entertained. Also the amount of things we saw was perfectly balanced in relation to the time available. Would highly recommend them!We did the Angkor Wat Sunrise tour and it was an absolutely amazing experience! We did the Angkor Wat Sunrise tour and it was an absolutely amazing experience! We were a group of 8 and had an amazing time which was mainly down to our tour guide, Pal Chen. He was brilliant, was very knowledgable and open to answering any questions we had on the day. He really thought is a lot about the history of Angkor Wat and Buddishm. Couldn't recommend him highly enough as a tour guide. The sunrise here is an an incredible experience (just an incredible place to witness it). We also got to see monkey in the wild around Angkor Wat which was pretty cool. Top Tips: Bring lots and lots of suncream (Factor 150+ if you're Irish or British) and water! It's a great day but a long day in the sun!I visited Cambodia 5 years ago with my family and we had Pin Vannak as our tour guide. I visited Cambodia 5 years ago with my family and we had Pin Vannak as our tour guide. The experience was of such high quality i chose to use him again to visit Asia in June 2019 but this time with my friend who has never seen Asia before (and who’s hands I definitely trusted Pin). We did Angkor Wat temple at sunrise, before visiting Bayon and Ta Prohm temple (where Tomb raider was filmed). Whilst you may well pay less for a group tour, it is definitely invaluable using Pin for a private one on one tour - he is enthusiastic, friendly, engaging and always smiley, and is highly educated and knowledgable about all the sites. He is always open to questions, and is flexible around you. i wouldn’t recommend anyone else - if you want a quality experience and to get the best out of Siem Reap - Pin is your man.We had some specific things we wanted to see on our tour of Angkor's temples. We had some specific things we wanted to see on our tour of Angkor's temples. When we couldn't find a tour that matched our needs, we requested a custom tour via Pin's website. He set us up with a customized 2-day itinerary with one of his freelance guides, Mr. Chanra. If you want to maximize your temple-viewing time, this tour is a great way to do it as he got us in the right places at the right times to avoid the big groups as much as possible. Itinerary: On the first day, we saw the sunrise at Angkor Wat and visited the temples of Angkor Thom. On the second day, we went out to Beng Mealea, Banteay Srei and Ta Prohm, before finishing the day with the sunset at Pre Rup. Bring: Camera, walking shoes and cash for meals. Cold water and cool wipes are provided throughout the day. Highlights: - Having a private guide to explain the details and history of the temples and answer questions. - Little tips and shortcuts—like knowing the big tour groups go back to their hotels for breakfast after the sunrise or walking over the bridge to Bayon and snapping pictures by the gate while our driver navigated the traffic jam through the entrance—are the things that make the experience better. - Side-excursions—When we wanted to try the sticky rice sold on the roadside, we were able to stop the car and get information about the process. We also stopped at the palm product tourist stands, but were able to go back and see the homes and visit with one of the local families. Could improve: - For lunch the second day, we stopped at a big tourist restaurant near Banteay Srei. When we asked for a more local experience, we ended up at another tourist restaurant near Ta Prohm. The food was fine, but it would have been nice to get away from all the tourists and take advantage of having a Khmer-speaking person to translate at a more local establishment. We overheard another guide tell her group that the tourist restaurants offer free meals to the guides who bring their groups in, which helps explain the choice.
