Day 1: Entire South Coast
Stop At: Seljalandsfoss, Hella Iceland
The thunderous Seljalandsfoss waterfall, falling nearly 60 metres. It may be possible to walk behind this waterfall for amazing views, when it’s not icy. The waterfall is a result of melting glacial ice pouring down from the peak of Eyjafjallajökull.
Duration: 40 minutes
Stop At: Skogafoss, Skogar Iceland
Our next stop at the famous Skógafoss waterfall. This 200ft fast flowing vertical waterfall can be enjoyed from afar or up close. Just remember to wear your waterproofs if you go to the very front. You can hire some Hidden Iceland waterproofs if you want to get really close. On sunny days you might be treated to a rainbow appearing in the mist of the waterfall. The majesty of this waterfall is not lost on popular culture either with both Game of Thrones and Vikings using this location for filming.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Reynisfjara Beach, Route 215, Vik Iceland
Next up, we head to Reynisfjara to see the amazing rock formations at this spectacular black sand beach. The angular basalt columns with their hexagonal shapes are the perfect photo spot on calm days. In summer you might get to spot some very cute puffins nesting in the cliffs overhead. In winter you are often treated to some intense crashing waves. One thing is for sure, you’ll get lost in thought as you wander along the volcanic black sand. For those of you who haven’t brought food with you, the Black Beach Restaurant is a great spot to test out some local produce. The locally grown turnip soup is a Hidden Iceland guide favourite!
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Vik, Vik, South Region
A short photo stop in this seaside town or a chance to grab some snacks from the supermarket in town.
Duration: 15 minutes
Stop At: Fjadrargljufur Canyon, Route 206 3.5KM off The Ring Road, Kirkjubaejarklaustur Iceland
This almost unpronounceable canyon is a stunning place for a walk to viewpoints for stunning photos.

Ingi made this trip memorable, wealth of knowledge. I’d call it a “Trip for the Eyes.” Sites you won’t find anywhere- do not miss this one and make sure to have you phone ready for hundreds of pictures. After seeing the weather conditions (high winds, ice, snow) and poor treated narrow single road lanes- I wouldn’t rent a car, there were many off the road. Ingi was an excellent driver and made everyone comfortable even when it became a white out with little visibility. This tour company was great at scheduling multiple sites within the shorter Winter days and Ingi made sure we had appropriate time spent at each location. If I had gone myself I would have missed out on a lot of sites. The hotel we stayed at was wonderful- clean, spacious rooms and large windows over looking the mountain range in the distance. It was better than our 3 star hotel in downtown Reykjavik- I didn't want to leave. Our group was fun, many from US and some overseas, mostly 20-40 yr olds- but by the end of the trip everyone had new friends. Couldn’t say it enough- do not miss this booking. Safe travels~ Sorry no photos to attached the files are too large for the site.I don’t have enough words to thank Ingy for this tour. Everything was perfect and he went the extra mile, every step of the way, to make it memorable. Do not hesitate one second to book this company, is super worth it and they pay attention to every single detail. Trust me, you will not regret it!

I had a fantastic time on this tour. Going to the Ice Cave was one of the true highlights of my visit to Iceland. I also had an outstanding experience in working with Hidden Iceland in general. They helped me plan my entire 12 day vacation in Iceland and catered it to my interests and preferences. I highly recommend using Hidden Iceland. My family and I had the best trip with Hidden Iceland's guide, Joe. Joe was very informative and was so fun to hang out with for three days. My kids, ages 12 and 13, loved hanging out with Joe, he kept them engaged and asked them tons of questions, to make sure they saw and experienced things they were interested in. Setting up the private tour was very easy. Hidden Iceland was very responsive to all my questions and ensuring my family and I had the best trip. All our accommodations were superb. We can't wait to go back. Don't think twice about using Hidden Iceland, first class experience from beginning to end.
