Just returned from the most fabulous vacation ever! Now let me say, my husband and I are very experienced travelers. We have traveled pretty much the whole world over, from Asia, to all countries in Europe, Antarctica, Australia, etc. And this is by far the best company we have ever traveled with., and Morocco is now our favorite country. So much to say, but I will try to make it short, and I am going to write a full travel review of the country which you can check out for more details. This is about Hassan and Under the Moroccan Sun. But first of all, I must say, Morocco is a country of incredible beauty and variety. I had no idea. Each city fascinating and beautiful. The countryside amazing. And the history! Just as impactful and ancient as Greece or Israel, or Italy. And still quite undiscovered. But safe! The infrastructure is amazingly intact. From good roads, good internet service, and delicious food! I am a very picky eater and often in traveling have to be very careful with what I eat. I can say honestly we didn't have one meal we didn't rave about. We discovered tagines, which are now one of my favorite foods. So delicious! The flavors, and textures and seasoning, the best! Morocco is quite intense, but in a very good way. But as to the company itself --- From my very first contact with Hassan, it was a pleasant responsive relationship. He answered all my emails quickly, usually within hours. Was responsive to my questions, and kind and personable. Always informative and very very helpful. I had lots of concerns with the Covid situation in the world and he was so honest and clear about the situation in Morocco. I also had to make many changes to our plans with the changing atmosphere due to covid and changing flights and cancellations of our reservations. He took this all in stride and was able to make all changes as needed. Never once a complaint. I believe by the time we actually were able to leave on our trip we had exchanged 58 emails! But this was just the preview before the actual trip itself. We did 10 days on this trip. From beginning to end it was smooth, easy, delightful, safe. We chose to stay in Riads, and that was the best choice for us. Very, very clean and beautiful. The best food ever! And we felt we were in the real Morocco. Do come prepared to go up and down a lot of stairs as there are no elevators. But all the riads were beautiful and well chosen. I'll outline the cities in my whole country review. But each one was one very well worth visiting. If you do Morocco, you cannot do it justice without being there at least 10 days. Hassan told me that to start with and he was right. The biggest mention I must make in this review is our driver guide, Ishmail. A more kind, gentler soul you will never meet. And so well informed at every step of the way. I believe we have made a friend for life. He met us at the airport, and was with us the entire time, clear to dropping us off back at the airport for our return flight home. A safe and careful driver also, that was important to us. A very cute sense of humor that my husband had a great time teasing with. He helped me with a medical issue, finding me a pharmacy even when most were closed. I can not speak highly enough of his professionalism, and kindness and help. I felt so well taken care of and informed the whole time. We felt safe in Morocco even in the current atmosphere of Covid concerns. The numbers of incidences in Covid currently are very low, and the country is highly vaccinated. We did wear masks in highly concentrated areas, like the medinas. Ishmail also took us to the lab the day before we went home to get our negative covid test to return home to USA. Very smooth and easy. And last but not least, the shopping!!!! And I must say if you are a shopper and enjoy bazaars and shopping for those special local artesinal buys, this is truly the mecca of shopping. We had more fun going to the souks and bargaining and were able to bring home some real treasures. Nice memories of fun times and gorgeous pieces for all our friends and family to see of our fabulous vacation. All I can say is if you ever want to go to Morocco, and you surely should, Hassan and Under Moroccan Sun will deliver you the most wonderful, safe, delightful, insightful, history enriching trip you will ever experience. Do read my whole country review for more details if you wish. (When I get around to posting it, hopefully soon) Also feel free to contact me. I cannot praise Morocco and Under Moroccan Sun enough. Go with him, and you will be one of many who will have the most wonderful trip ever.Hassan El Amrani set up a superb itinerary with excellent accommodations and local guides for the 4 of us (2 couples). Hassan El Amrani set up a superb itinerary with excellent accommodations and local guides for the 4 of us (2 couples). Hassan stayed in touch with us through out our tour and met us on two occasions in Morocco including a visit to his sisters home to experience how a typical Moroccan family lives. Our driver Sliman, was first rate; maintaining our schedule despite our often asking for photo stops and taking short side trips he suggested. He remained cheerful despite long sections of major road construction due to Morocco’s major infrastructure improvements. We could not have had a more attentive and pleasant driver. If you have a choice, all 4 of us on this trip suggest you request Sliman as your driver —he’s the best! We started in Casablanca where we met our first local guide Halim who also guided us through Rabat. Rabat is not to be missed. While visiting the beautiful Hassan II mosque he even showed us how he performs his absolutions before prayer. Next day we visited the small city of Meknes, the smallest imperial city famous for its 40 km of walls. Then on to the extensive Roman ruins at Volubilis. Fez was next on our agenda with its famous Medina -the old part of the city. Here Hassan surprised us with our accommodations in the Medina in a Riad, essentially a palacios home converted into a boutique hotel - wow! Again we had Avery good local guide. Onto Midelt, traveling through the Middle Atlas Mountains. On the way we stopped in a Cedar Forrest and got close enough to families of Barbary apes o feed them. The small hotel in Midelt, the Villa Pomme d’Or was great with a tasty Moroccan meal. Day 6 past through the Ziz valley gorges and palm groves in the large Tafilalet oasis; stopped in Erfoud to visit a fossil factory then overnight in modern Riad next to the Ergchebbi sand dunes where many dessert movies are are filmed. The next day we mounted camels for an afternoon journey into the dessert and an overnight stay in luxurious tent — a highlight of the trip. Day 8 departed the dessert got the scenic drive through the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech. Day 10: Much to see in Marrakech including several tombs only recently discovered, outstanding gardens, and many monuments. This a trip both unique in its scenery sand cities but also educational due to Hassan finding outstanding guides. Cannot find words to adequately describe this outstanding small group tour due to Hassan’s attention to detail and his personal involvement.I had the 10day tour with them through a Chinese agency with a large group of other 11 people. I had the 10day tour with them through a Chinese agency with a large group of other 11 people. Besides ocean cruises, it was my first time ever traveling with a “non-private” tour group. Therefore, I am not familiar with the ongoing market rate about a tour like this. I can only say it was a fraction of what the price I paid for private{2-3person} tours in countries of similar economic/social standing-India, Egypt…. etc. Keep this in mind I think the service, transportation and accommodation they provided are worth every penny. When we landed in Casablanca the tour guide Mustapha and the minivan were waiting for us. We were sent to the Sheraton in the city center. I considered this hotel to be the weakest link of the whole trip. The free wifi was non exist. The reception was not very helpful on any question or request. However, the hardware was OK and the breakfast was delicious. it was a comfy overnight stay. We left in the morning. The rest of the hotels during the trip are all Moroccan style Riad. They are full of ethnic characters and Moroccan Charm. Although at certain inland area the hardware might be below the international standard, but the warmth of the service member more than made it up. The lunch at a Berber family and the night at Sahara/Merzouga luxury camp were the high lights of the trip. Every signal service member was going all the way to make you feel welcome. The tent was beautifully decorated with the limited resources they have. Sitting next to campfire, watching the sparkling galaxy above; the silent surrounding with only the beats from the percussion instruments played by the African dancers. The endless rolling hill of sand, the honest people living a simple life who proud of their land. It was not only magic, it was exhilaratingly refreshing. The driver Zayd and guide Mustapha were always punctual every morning. They were very accommodating on any request we make: Recommending local restaurants according to every ones budget and taste. Stop or skip shopping destinations on request. There were generous efforts made to satisfy our desires. Everything has been done professionally and courteously. Highly recommended. Our tour started with the person who tied it all together, Hamid, our driver, who made the necessary travel to all the locations both comfortable and a pleasure. Our tour started with the person who tied it all together, Hamid, our driver, who made the necessary travel to all the locations both comfortable and a pleasure. The local guides were friendly spending several hours sharing their knowledge with us. The riads that we stayed in ranged from traditional with colorful mosaics to more modern, yet still Moroccan. The common element to all of them were the great staffs that were concerned about our wellbeing and that we started our day off with a delicious breakfast. We may have been able plan a trip on our own but I don’t think we would experienced or learned half of what we did. A beautiful country filled with friendly people. An experience we will never forget. Highly recommend Under Moroccan Sun Tours and thank you for a wonderful time!I cannot sing enough praise for Hassan and his team. I cannot sing enough praise for Hassan and his team. From the first point of contact to helping us manage a cancelled flight on our last day, Hassan and our point of contact in Morocco - the amazing Ismail, made our trip absolutely flawless. My partner and I travelled alone and felt taken care of every step of the way. Ismail, our driver and guide, made the trip for us, offering advice, stories and rich history. We were provided with an amazing personal guide in each city and always felt supported and secure. The hotels and riad's Hassan picked for us to stay in were luxurious hidden gems. Thank you Hassan and Ismail for the most amazing trip. Truly a memory we will never forget! We had the time of our lives on our vacation to Morocco with Under the Moroccan Sun. We had the time of our lives on our vacation to Morocco with Under the Moroccan Sun. A ‘very big welcome’ awaited us when we met our driver/guide, Mouad in Morocco. We were greeted with a big smile, well wishes, and a rose to start our trip. We found Under the Moroccan Sun through Zicasso. Hassan was wonderful to work with. We spoke with him on the phone several times while planning our trip. He always responded quickly when we reached out. The itinerary was based on our interests. Hassan was flexible in making any adjustments that we suggested for our trip. He coordinated everything: driver, tours, accommodations, cooking class, Hammam, etc. We had absolutely no problems with the scheduling of activities or accommodations throughout the trip. We enjoyed all of the activities and the restaurant recommendations that Hassan gave us prior to our trip. Hassan also checked in with us during our vacation. We spent 12 days in Morocco and visited the following cities: Casablanca, Rabat, Meknes, Fez, Merzouga, Atlas Mountains, Marrakech and Essoura. Some highlights of our trip included: Hassan II Mosque, Fez Medina, Barbary Apes, visit to Berber family home, visit to the local school, camel ride, luxury Sahara Desert Camp, 4x4 through the dunes, Nomad camp visit, Atlas mountains, cooking class, Hammam, goats in Argan trees, beach, and snake charmer. Mouad played a big part in making our trip fantastic. He was kind, professional, responsive, and informative. Mouad made us feel safe and comfortable. We began to feel like he was part of our family. Mouad speaks several languages. He communicated for us throughout the trip. This helped our trip to run very smoothly. He talked with our Riad personnel, tour guides, restaurant staff, etc. Mouad often went above and beyond the itinerary and set up special excursions that were tailored to our interests. Mouad’s extensive knowledge of Morocco and its culture enhanced our experience. We learned so much about Morocco. The hospitality of Mouad and all of the Moroccan people made us fall in love with the country. I can go on and on about the positive experiences with had with Mouad! Overall, the accommodations were top notch. The Salam Fes was an outstanding riad and probably our favorite. It was beautiful, clean, and the service was fantastic. We highly recommend Under the Moroccan Sun (Hassan) and our driver/guide Mouad. Morocco is a very friendly and fun place to visit. We had the trip of a lifetime! Mike
