Zip line instructors were very professional. Made things fun and very safe. The long runs are spectacular. We had a bright sunny day, so no clouds in the forest, but good visibility of the forest canopy and beyond. Hummingbird sanctuary where feeders are placed to attract them have been discontinued years ago we were told (contrary to what some tours have advertised). Butterfly and amphibian sanctuaries in the same location are separate tours. Hugo our guide for the hanging bridges hike gave a very good commentary of the forest and was awesome in spotting interesting birds for us. We saw a tucán and the majestic Quetzal!Absolutely must see and do!! Our guide Norberto, was so engaging and knowledge!! Views are breathtaking and if you’re lucky you’ll get to see some of the wildlife up close. Actually had a Howler Monkey walk right past us on a hanging bridge! Actually had a Howler Monkey walk right past us on a hanging bridge! The zip lining was the best we’ve ever done. 18 lines and the staff was on point the whole time!! The longest and highest I’ve seen!!The zip lines were wonderful, including the exhilarating Tarzan swing. Lots of fun. The hanging bridges tour could have been more enjoyable. The zip lines were wonderful, including the exhilarating Tarzan swing. Lots of fun. The hanging bridges tour could have been more enjoyable. We found the guide did not engage well with the whole group and seemed to be in a rush or just disengaged. Also I would note the drive to the facility was uncomfortable for the passengers. Comfort and perhaps safety were sacrificed for speed. Our hotel was 4 hrs away. On Viator the pick up time was 5.30 am which was the correct time to start. We got an email the previous night that the pick up was at 6.30, we didn’t start until 7 am. We had a long drive. The van was very uncomfortable for the ride. The access roads to Monte Verde and...
Our hotel was 4 hrs away. On Viator the pick up time was 5.30 am which was the correct time to start. We got an email the previous night that the pick up was at 6.30, we didn’t start until 7 am. We had a long drive. The van was very uncomfortable for the ride. The access roads to Monte Verde and really bad so a comfortable van would have helped. We ate lunch at 4 pm. The zipline and hanging bridge experience was very unique and fun but was over shadowed by bad transportation and delays. We had the absolute best time on this tour! We had the absolute best time on this tour! Ariel, our driver and guide, knew the answer to any question we threw at him about Costa Rica. He was very personable and easy to talk to. Ariel was a very good driver as well. Driving is different in every country we have been to so it is always nice to feel safe even if you don't understand everything around you. He kept us on time and happy! The food we had at the end of the tour was a true taste of Costa Rica as well! Thank you so much to Native's Way and specifically Ariel for such a wonderful day! We went on 12/2/2021 and I can say the sunsets coming down from Monteverde during this time of year were priceless! We got picked up at our hotel and went to meet the rest of our travel party. We got picked up at our hotel and went to meet the rest of our travel party. Santos was our guide, he was great! Super knowledgeable and friendly. The drive up took about 3 hours with some windey switchbacks, our driver Manuel was great and navigated the roads very nicely. Going up the weather was dismal rainy and windy. We got to MonteVerde and jumped right in to the hanging bridges tour. It was incredible! You walk deep through the forest and then all of a sudden it opens up to the bridges. The views off the bridges are unbelievable. One bridge we came upon a family of howler monkeys, they were within arms length! The hike has some moderate grades but nothing extreme. We finished the bridges and went right to the zip lines. Fifteen in all, some were so far that it looked like you zipped in to the clouds and disappeared! So much fun in all. We were a little behind schedule so we couldn’t sign up for the Superman zip at the end. It was still awesome. So many incredible views. The hike between zips was again moderate but worth it. The drive home, the weather cleared up and we were treated to some of the most spectacular views that reached all the way to the ocean. Long day with the ride from our hotel but definitely worth it! Bring a rain coat and an extra set of underwear and socks!
