The river canyon, Glerárgil, is a hidden gem of nature splitting the town of Akureyri through the middle. We have made the protected area accessible with a thoughtfully designed trail and five ziplines, in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.

What to expect
Professional guides lead you on an adventure trail with five ziplines and forest paths. The river canyon Glerárgil is a hidden nature gem running straight through the middle of Akureyri town. On this tour you will find your way through stunning scenery experienced by few, even the locals. The tour takes 1-2 hours depending on group size.

- Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- Minimum age is 8 years
- Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately
- Weight limits: 30 - 120 kg (65 - 260 lbs) for safety reasons
- Sturdy shoes with good grip recommended
- Bring a hair tie for long hair
- Must be able to walk on uneven paths, at a moderate pace, for up to 10 minutes at a time

Absolutely gorgeous nature one wouldn't see otherwise. A bit crazy thrills and adrenaline, but very safe gear and good instructions, it was awesome. We were a family of 4 adults, and there was another group of 4 people on the same tour, and this went very smoothly.
