The garden at Sakien was very beautiful. It was like stepping back in time. Kenji, our guide, explained the history behind it very well. He was very personable.

My guide Hiroshi was excellent! He took me through parts of Yokohama that only locals would know about, like a free foot bath at this one restaurant in Yamashita Park and a row of bars in Noge that I eventually went back to later that evening to enjoy. He also introduced me to some local delicacies, like hoppy and a squid dish that I felt like made me want to keep drinking! Great times. One other thing, if you’re a fan RGG studio games Like a Dragon or Lost Judgment, you’re going to get a kick out of exploring this area. You’ll recognize sections of Yamashita Park where you probably ran around looking for those beetles to upgrade your gear or the bridge or the row of bars near where Ichiban first lives when he first gets to Yokohama. They completely ruined the day for my daughterGuide was friendly and nice. Unfortunately shared limited information - did not have much knowledge of history or interesting stories to tell.
