Two groups of my friends highly recommended this tour company to me. I was so glad that I listened to them and joined their 4D3N tour from Sep 21-24. Two groups of my friends highly recommended this tour company to me. I was so glad that I listened to them and joined their 4D3N tour from Sep 21-24. The exceptional services provided by owner C.K., his daughter Verda, staff members Renee, Janet and Iris were extremely impressive. Especially Verda. She went above and beyond to make sure we did not miss any activities listed in the itinerary; even sacrificing her own break time. Their Aurora Station was the best place to enjoy the dancing aurora show. We were so lucky to be able to see the strong light movements that night. At the station, we could stay downstairs to enjoy tasty soup made by Verda, sat down at ease in a cozy room (with nice washroom!); or stay on the roof level grabbing every opportunity to see the aurora peeping out from time to time. Another wonderful thing which I believe no other tour company could have done is, they would make sure you go to different restaurants during your stay, and let you order your own dishes!! I have been traveling with various tour groups. They always decide and pre-order foods within their budget. I have a strong feeling that Yellowknife Tours has the heart to promote Yellowknife's tourism. They put visitors interest in front of their profits. This is the best tour group in Yellowknife! Such warm, friendly and amazing people! I booked their City Tour as well as the Arctic Duchess Tour to see the Aurora. The aurora tour was amazing - Verda drove us to the Great Slave Lake - we were on the frozen lake! - and as soon as we stepped out of the bus, we saw the green lights changing shape and dancing across the sky! Renee took wonderful and many many photos of all those in the group. Then we moved to the Arctic Duchess, a decommissioned ship. There was a heated tent to thaw ourselves when we needed to from waiting for the aurora to appear. Verda and Renee made sure everyone was comfortable, having a good time, and checked on me several times as I was the only solo traveler in the tour group. The next day, Verda was kind enough to accommodate me into the city tour although I requested it at the last minute. She told me about the history of the place, showed me all the sights, and made sure I had enough pictures to remember this trip by! Standing on the ice road looking down into the frozen lake was the high point of my city tour. I had also booked another tour the next day with a different tour group - but I have to say, this one is my favorite. They are definitely running a competent business, but they make your experience more than a checklist and a transaction. They will not only give you your money's worth, but also genuinely look after you, befriend you and try to go beyond their call of duty to help your Yellowknife experience become a memory of a home away from home.louchenary

Not only hitting all the essential attractions like the Northern Heritage Centre, Legislative Assembly, Bush Pilots Monument, she also brought us to see the charms and cultural legacies of the Old Town and Ndilǫ, a Dene First Nation community. The tour was clearly from a true local's perspective, delivered with passion and love of the city. It allows you to understand Yellowknife as a vibrant community beyond spectacular aurora sights, a city as remarkable in daylight as at nighttime. One last note: The meal plans included in the Package were a pleasant surprise. Middle-Eastern, Vietnamese, Ethiopian, renowned fish & chips shop, you name it.
