What to expect
Itinerary
This tour is really special because you gonna have opportunity to do so many activities just in one day. First we'll start with the zip line adventure where the professional guides will take you through the jungle of Mayan eden. After that you gonna enjoy learning about butterflys, hummingbirds, capuchin monkeys & spider monkeys, sloths and our national bird macaw. We have the most beautiful sightseeing areas where you can take amazing panoramic pictures with your family. We will also gonna visit gift shop owned by Mr. Raymond and you'll see all the handmade souvenirs that his family has created. Our next stop will be a delicious one: Mayak chocolate factory where we gonna taste all the chocolates and learn how Mayan culture discovered cacao. Also you gonna have opportunity to try some local snacks, island favorites . Also, we gonna visit the Rum Company and do rum and cake tastings. What else we include: Beers and water. Enjoy

Afan is the best tour guide you can ask.for. Did Zipline and interacted with monkey, sloth and parrot. Took us rum.tasting and chocolate tasting. This tour is great. Loved it. Anyone visiting Roatan must have Afan as a guide. His the best..

This wonderful island experience all begins with my guide Afan. He senses and finds out what a tourist with him wants and goes out of his way to be sure he does everything possible to satisfy their wishes. I was the only person with Afan that day and he treated me like I was his brother. He picked me up at Infinity Bay condos and rode in his SUV starting around 10:00AM. Immediately, he began to explain in detail what the plans for the day were going to be. At that time, he called his friend Bonnie who has a small home/restaurant at West End and asked her what she was making for lunch on that day. She told him that it would be Honduran curried chicken with rice and vegetables. I told him I would love to experience what she was preparing and the reservation was made. As we rode along, Afan would gladly stop his car so I could capture photos and videos of all the beauty of his island home, Roatan. We finally made it to our first destination called Roatan's Nature Reserve filled with many of their beautiful birds and animals on Roatan. We entered the reserve and Afan directed me to just sit down, relax and enjoy because he was taking care of everything for my adventure inside the park. Afan had been there many times, knew their routine and many of the workers there. We were assigned a "monkey guide" to explain everything and answer all questions. The great part for me was that Afan was my private guide and he would move me along during the tour and place me in the best position possible. So I could photograph, participate and not miss any of that beautiful experiences that day.. He also took many photographs of me, with his camera, interacting with the birds and animals and later sent them to me on my iPad. After that great experience, we drove to West End for our lunch with Bonnie and her husband/fisherman Mark. Their home is called Swordfish where they have a very small restaurant on their balcony over looking the beautiful Caribbean. I had the feeling that this day was so special for me like visiting long lost relatives with their beautiful Honduran island music in the background. I entered Bonnie's kitchen while she was cooking and really enjoyed my time with these 2 beautiful people.We finished our wonderful meal, Thanked Bonnie and Mark for their warm reception and headed back to my condo. On the way back, Afan stopped so I could photograph the beauty of the mountains sitting above the clouds across the Caribbean on the mainland of Honduras. This whole fantastic and wonderful experience would never be possible without the guidance of the very capable and my new friend Afan.merlin0356
