DO NOT miss Xel-ha. It's like the Mayan Disneyworld. Be ready to be adventurous--it's not fancy, but you will see amazing things. Definitely buy the photo pass--they take great pix during all the activities and at great POI and photo ops. We love the bikes that go through the tree canopies, but COAT yourself in bug spray. Don't miss the rope swing into the cenote at the back of the park. There's 2 cliff jumps and the river float that my kids LOVE. Although we love to snorkel, the new masks since Covid stay fogged up and there are not too many fish in the lagoon. We would recommend skipping this activity until the end of the day so you are sure to hit all the other activities. The food is surprisingly good!! The Mexican coffee might be my favorite coffee I've had in my life. Be prepared for cloudbursts, serious sun, even with a lot of shade, and.weekends are crazy busy. We prefer to take private car but most hotels offer a shuttle. Be ready for $$--our family of 6 cost about $1000 for the day, including the added photo pass and jungle bikes. The diversity of activities mean you don't have long waits anywhere, so book it when you are in the Cancun-Playa area.Think "theme park" (such as Disney World, Universal Studios, etc.),,, now imagine yourself on an island with snorkeling, caves, hiking, cliff jumping (not too high, but high enough), tubing in mangroves, swimming through a grato, swinging on a rope as you plunge yourself into the water, zip-linin...

My daughter and I had the best time at Xel Ha! We bought the photo package and were pleased that it was attached to both of our bracelets. There were lots of places with beautiful backgrounds to scan our bracelets We didn't have to carry camera or our phones with us for pictures. They were safely stowed in a locker for the day! We even have some underwater pictures with fish all around us! We were picked up pretty early and got to the park for 'rope drop". Our guide told us to take advantage and hit the popular parts early, before they were lined up. We headed up to the top of the lighthouse for the slides. What a great view from up there too! We brought our own full face snokels and were not disappointed by the amount of fish ! I bet we swam for miles! The other side of the park had some great trails and a cave /cenote area. pretty cool too! Being an all inclusive for food and drinks was great ( again, didn't have to carry a wallet around). They served breakfast and then some lunch. Lots to choose from and the lines weren't very long at all! We would absolutely recommend this excursion!Absolutely amazing place. Would I go back again? Absolutely amazing place. Would I go back again? Absolutely. Can't wait till my next Playa Del Carmen holiday as I will definately go back to all of the XCERET parks. They are amazing value for money, they are incredibly clean, well maintained and almost perfection! Honestly go here you will not regret it, snorkeling is amazing and staff are so friendly and happy to help. No complaints here! Travelled on the free transport from Riviera Maya which was painless and Easy throughout. All activities were new to me thats why i like them. Some of the crew wasn't hospitable, a smile and hello would've been mostly appreciated.

All in all it was a great day. expensive, but good. The buffet food was also better than the resort we stayed at. Enjoyed the grounds and the snorkeling. You will definitely enjoy your day. We would do it again. We rented a taxi for the day from our resort and had the same ride there and back. in my opinion better than a bus. THAT SAID - here are a couple of frustrations 1) the water slide was so salty and stung so badly that my 8 year old was in tears. Don't know if that was normal, but our whole bodies were in pain, and our eyes felt like needles in them. no joke. 2) the Dolphin swim - we paid extra to swim with the dolphins (which was fun). At entry, for some reason the price was negotiable...? sure ok. I'll take less 2b) they told my wife where to go stand as she didn't join us, and missed the whole thing as they told her to go to the wrong place so we couldn't get any pictures. Very dissapointed. 2c) THATS OK THEY TOOK Pictures for us! - BUT - when we went to go buy them as my wife missed out, they were going to charge us over $250 US for 40ish pictures. SO HUGE SCAM. flat out denied and the haggling began. I finally spent $30US for 10 pictures as we needed something to document the experience with the kids. Im all up for supporting the dolphins and research, but common. Positive - the snorkeling was great and safe for the kiddos.
