Whitewater Rafting and ATV Adventure
Overview
The 3-hour ATV trip is set up for beginners to intermediate drivers. We start out with detailed instructions and a training course to get you comfortable with your vehicles. It covers roughly 40 km in distance it is a mix of on road and off road jungle terrain. It’s well-suited for those that would like to explore the local countryside and see it a different way.
During the second part of the day you will tackle some of Thailand’s best whitewater rapids on a full-day rafting adventure from Chiang Mai. Expert guides ensure your safety as you cruise through the jungle along class III and IV rapids, and an included lunch and other amenities make for a worry-free day in the wilds of Northern Thailand.

Enjoy an 3 hour ATV ride through the Mae Taeng Valley combined with the action-packed class III-IV whitewater rafting on the Mae Taeng River. Experience the jungle and rivers of Northern Thailand on this amazing day with 8Adventures.
We have top-of-the-line equipment and highly trained guides to make sure you have a safe adventure. We have towels for you when you finish and shower facilities that you can use before heading home. Make sure to bring a 2nd set of dry clothes so you can ride home dry.

I did the ATV + Rafting tour this summer in 2021. This was a must do experience in Chiang Mai. In the morning we took the ATVs out first. They did a great job with safety as well as took the time to make sure I was comfortable driving the ATV. The ride up the mountain provided great views and as an adrenaline junkie / someone who has had experiences with ATVs they really took the feedback on going faster :) They didn't push anything which was great because it was up to me to decide when to go faster. The view at the top was great. In the afternoon we went white water rafting. The training video was great and the instructor did a great job giving me opportunities to apply the training and ask any questions that I needed. The rafting was great and conditions were great. At times we passed elephants which was awesome. The rapids were so fun! they also did a great job capturing videos and footage / allowed me to bring my go pro. Truly a memorable day. We did the ATV + Rafting in early January. The ATV part of the tour was really fun. The rafting was simply terrible. There wasn't enough water in the river, which meant all of the rafts kept getting stuck on the rocks. It was so bad that the guides had to get out of the rafts and dislodge the rafts on several occasions and then jump back in. Everyone in my group was just ready for the rafting to be over, because it wasn't fun. (We've done rafting on several occasions and we've never seen anything like this). Quite frankly, 8Adventures should have told everyone that rafting was canceled -- or at least given us an option to skip rafting and go home early -- instead of wasting everyone's time and money. 8Adventures was very well run otherwise. Safety was their highest priority, much moreso than any outfit I've seen operating in the US or New Zealand (the other places we've rafted). We were very impressed from that perspective. But unfortunately, we felt like we wasted a day of our precious vacation because the conditions were so poor, and 8Adventures did not do the right thing.
