Overview
Only local guides, driving 7 seater 4wd, full A/C, vehicles , will allow you to explore on really comfortable conditions a part from the mainland of Crete which compatible vehicles, buses or mini buses, can’t offer. In small groups up to 6 guests/vehilcle with lunch, you will have a memorable day.
Early in the morning we visit the 3000-5000 years old olive tree and later at Anoskeli's olive mill and winery the Sommeliers and Wine-Olive Oil producers, as more professional in their sector, will inform you about the wine and olive oil when they serve you.
The adventurous part of the tour is to approach the White Mountains from Sebronas gorge and driving on rough roads.
Have your lunch time at 1200m/4000ft altitude with a magnificent view to Samaria Gorge and the highest summit, named Pachnes (2453m/8048ft).
Heading back to Chania enjoy the view at the Aegean sea from 1000m/3300ft.

Taste extra virgin and organic extra virgin olive oil. Continue with a winery experience by tasting 5 different labels of local wine, accompanied by Cretan snacks.

Explore a part from the Chania Prefecture area on comfortable, full A/C 4wd vehicles, which compatible vehicles, buses or mini buses, can’t offer. We will cross in driving the Sebronas gorge, approaching the White Mountains from west.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Stop At: Omalos, Omalos, Chania Prefecture, Crete
Approach the west part of the White Mountains and enjoy the scenery at Omalos Plateau (1000m/3300ft altitude). The shepherds have their sheep and goats at the plateau all year arround. Take photos at Samaria's National Park entrance, the longest gorge in Europe (16km/10 miles).

From the forest with cypress trees , in a short distance we are to the valley with lemon, orange, avocado and olive trees. We will cross in driving the villages, Omalos, Lakki, Fournes and Alikianos.

Nasos is the best guide you could ask for. For a whole day we were in Nasos' very capable hands and didn't have to think about a thing as he took us from experience to experience. If you want to disconnect and get off the beaten path, this is the tour for you. After treating us to mountain tea and traditional Cretan cheese, Nasos took us into the mountains to see the metato. He is so knowledgeable and passionate so it is a pleasure to listen to him. He told us about the shepherds, Cretan cheese, olives, bees and Greek history. We came away from the tour feeling like we had experienced something unique and had learned more about the landscape that makes Greek food so delicious. This is a true learning experience and a bit of an adventure at the same time. It's a wonderful opportunity to get to know Crete a bit better. Nasos is very well organized, knowledgeable, safety conscious and determined to have his guests have a wonderful experience. He really goes abobe and beyond. Spend the day with Nasos!Mariabvessell

What an incredible experience! From start to finish, the trip was fantastic. So fantastic that my husband and I booked another safari the next day to Milia! Dimitri our tour guide, went above and beyond. He was very knowledgeable, allowed us time to enjoy ourselves, made sure we had anything we needed. For this tour, we started by taking a small 1 km hike in a gorge along the road, visited a little town and had snacks, drove up the beuaitful snow capped mountains and found the hut where they make cheese, visited the winery and had a delicious meal wine, lastly had coffee at a Cafe overlooking a lake. ☀️Helt igennem fantastisk tur, hvor man virkelig fik set en af de enormt smukke sider af Kreta, både naturmæssigt og kulturelt.☀️ 👫Vi er et ungt par på 18 år, som søgte en enestående oplevelse, hvor man fik bagsiden af den ellers enormt turistede ø Kreta at se. Den fandt vi hos Chania Adventures...
☀️Helt igennem fantastisk tur, hvor man virkelig fik set en af de enormt smukke sider af Kreta, både naturmæssigt og kulturelt.☀️ 👫Vi er et ungt par på 18 år, som søgte en enestående oplevelse, hvor man fik bagsiden af den ellers enormt turistede ø Kreta at se. Den fandt vi hos Chania Adventures, som tilbyder oplevelser i lange baner, så der er noget til hver sin smag. Vi valgte at besøge en fårehyrdes stenhytte på en afsides bjergtop, hvor elektricitet og internetdækning endnu ikke er aktuelt. Tiden op til turen var nem og lige til, for servicen og kontaktmulighederne til Chania Adventures fungerede helt vildt godt. Vi startede med at blive hentet af de to skønne guider, lige ude foran vores hotel i Platanias. Vores guide for dagen var Dimitrios, som var ny guide i firmaet, men det var ikke til at fornemme. Han var en enormt velvidende og intelligent guide som kunne fortælle os om øen ned til mindste detalje, og de engelske sprogkunstskaber var helt i top. På turen op til hytten, fik vi oplevet naturen i sin bedste form og smagt på de lokale specialiteter såsom honning, ost, salater og kød. Drikkelse var der også sørget for, så man manglede i den grad ikke noget. 👌🏽 🏔I 1400 meters højde finder man den lille stenhytte, hvor en lokal fårehyrde tilbringer 7 måneder om året. Omgivet af de mange får, oplever man den enorme isolation fra resten af øen i alt sin pragt. Inde i den mørke hytte, bliver man budt på hjemmebrygget Raki som gør stemningen endnu mere autentisk, i takt med at man ser de frisklavede oste som den 75 årige hyrde med stolthed viser frem i mørket. 🐑 På hjemturen bliver der også budt på specialiteter hos de lokales spisesteder, men dem må i selv opleve. Alt i alt var turen en enestående oplevelse som vi med garanti aldrig kommer til at glemme, og vi vender helt sikkert tilbage for at prøve de andre ture som der tilbydes. De to guider som var med på turen havde meget viden om de mange forskellige planter og dyr og generelt om...

Derudover var de utrolig imødekommende og venlig. Turen gav lejlighed til at opleve en del af Kreta, som jeg ikke havde forstillet mig fandtes - lige fra vej der snoede sig igennem et flot skovterræn med vandløb, klipper og fritgående geder og får til de høje bjergetoppe, hvor du kunne se langt udover den smukke græske ø, og hvor vi fik lov til at opleve Shepherd’s hut og livet som farmer. Derudover var der mad inkluderet i turen, hvilket også smagte super lækkert! Her fik vi lov til at smage på nogle af Grækenlands specialiteter. Fantastisk tur og en oplevelse man vil huske.spot1013

We decided last minute to do this excursion. If I could rate a 20/10 I would . We experienced things we never would have otherwise !! Our guide Vassilas shared his knowledge , humor and hospitality . The winery’s experience was outstanding and the food was amazing . This doesn’t even begin to take into account the views . We learned so much about history and food and goats and so much more .
