What to expect
Cruising through the coastal Salt Marsh behind Cape May and Wildwood viewing the birds and marine life that live there. We get up close to many different species of birds with views that people rarely get to see of some of the secretive birds of the wetlands. Being out in the wetlands every day for six months gives us a unique ability to find and closely visit with many different species of birds. Cruises on Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings are longer and higher priced than cruises on other days and times.

The guide was very knowledgeable and went out of his way to find the birds and give us plenty of time to take photos. There were just 10 of us on the boat so we were very comfortable and could see clearly the entire time. We would return in the springSept 9th was our first time on the Safari Cruise, and we loved it! Sept 9th was our first time on the Safari Cruise, and we loved it! We were so thrilled at the numbers of birds and variety of species! Erica, the Naturalist, and Bob, the Captain, were so knowledgeable, and when we told them which birds would be life-birds for us, they went out of their way to point them out, explain the field markings, and make sure we had excellent views of each one. On this day we added Forster's Tern, Ruddy Turnstone, Short-billed Dowitcher, Marbled Godwit, Whimbrel, and Black-bellied Plover to our life list! We highly recommend Birding by Boat on the Osprey! We went back for the Sunset Cruise the next day, and we're definitely going to make this a part of every Cape May vacation. We saw many different birds that we've never seen before. Captain was knowledgeable and had great binoculars for us to use. It was a very pleasant two hours on the water.

A great trip with knowledgeable guides. The captain and naturalist on board were great at pointing out sights along the journey, including birds and natural features. They also showed us a lot of the built environment along the water in Cape May and Wildwood. We got a great sight of a Bald Eagle, many Osprey, shorebirds, and the like. Appropriate for beginner birders, hobbyists, and more experienced birders who would like a new view.
