Stop At: Switched on Bikes, Queens Wharf Beside Fergs Kayaks & Dockside Restaurant, Wellington 6011 New Zealand
Our shop is the starting point for your tour. We're centrally based at Queens Wharf on the Wellington Waterfront and have a cafe on site if you arrive early.
We'll set you up on your bike with a helmet and provide you with full instruction on how to use your eBike (it's easy!). We've got a large car-free space to get used to riding before we set off.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Wellington Waterfront, Wellington New Zealand
Our store is based on the Wellington Waterfront. From close to our store you can see the inter-island and local ferries coming and going and you might be lucky enough to spot stingrays, seals and even the occasional dolphin!
The Wellington Waterfront hosts many events and markets through out the year and is a happening place when the sun is out!
Duration: 30 minutes
Pass By: Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, 55 Cable St, Wellington 6011 New Zealand
We'll stop outside Te Papa as it's a central landmark of Wellington on the waterfront. It's New Zealand's national museum and we'll tell you about the current exhibitions. It's just a short walk from our shop if you want to look through at the end of your bike tour.
Stop At: Oriental Bay, Oriental Parade, Wellington 6001 New Zealand
We'll ride past on the cycle path beside the beach. We'll stop for photos and see how popular this beach spot is on a sunny day!
Duration: 5 minutes
Pass By: Mount Victoria, Alexandra Lookout Rd, Wellington 6001 New Zealand
We'll be riding along the coast at the base of Mt Victoria for much of the tour. There are plenty of photo opportunities with Mt Victoria forming the backdrop of your shot.
Stop At: Maupuia Walkway, Unnamed Road, Maupuia, Wellington 6022, New Zealand
For the best photos over-looking Wellington and the surrounding bays we put the bikes on 'turbo' and head up to the top of Miramar Peninsula. From the top you'll have enough time for photos and we'll tell you a Maori tale of how Wellington Harbour was formed.
Duration: 20 minutes
Stop At: Cog Park, 391 Evans Bay Parade, Hataitai, Wellington 6021, New Zealand
This is our cafe stop, where a tea or coffee is included in the price of the tour. The beautiful harbour and yachts docked make a stunning backdrop for photos to take back home.
Duration: 25 minutes
Stop At: Switched on Bikes, Queens Wharf, Wellington Waterfront, Wellington 6011, New Zealand
This is the end of the tour. You're centrally located and are only 5min walk away from Wellington's iconic Cable Car, 10min from the NZ Parliament or Te Papa.

It was a really good tour, but could have been better. I was a bit disppointed that our ride took us onto main roads and residential areas, with little or no shoulder to ride on. Some large trucks and other vehicles came very close to us. I was surprised that our lead and rear guides didn't have headsets to communicate with each other. The group was spread out over quite a large distance. On the other hand, they were both very professional and friendly and make sure we all had a good time. I would recommend this as long as you're aware that there are no bike paths in some areas and for us, being American, we were riding on the 'wrong' side of the road, which was a little disorienting at times.Service was great and polite. Had a wonderful ride around Wellington and would love to do it again someday!

I don’t think we missed out on any sights and we had a good ride along cycleways and pathways, guide was so friendly and informative. This was my favorite excursion in New Zealand! This was my favorite excursion in New Zealand! The bikes were all ready for us when we arrived, labeled with our names, and adjusted for our individual heights. The route was nicely varied and safe. The ebikes made it possible for the whole group to stay together and enjoy the experience. The cafe was delicious, and I was only sorry we didn't have time for a full meal. It was a great day!
