Waterfall Rappelling and White Water Rafting
Overview
You'll start in the Pure Trek canyon, rappelling down tropical waterfalls, rock climbing, hiking, and participating in a Monkey drop (zip line & rappel). After canyoning you'll enjoy a quick snack and then head to the Balsa River for white water rafting. This river provides the perfect mix of nature viewing and excitement. After rafting you'll head to a local restaurant for a delicious Costa Rican style meal.

What to expect
We'll pick you up from your hotel and whisk you off to our gorgeous rainforest canyon, about 20 minutes from La Fortuna. On the way you'll transfer to 4x4 trucks for an exciting, short drive to our remote ranch house. Your professional guides will gear you up and provide safety instructions before a morning of excitement and exhilaration! You'll be lead through the canyon, rappelling down tropical waterfalls, rock climbing, and participating in a Monkey drop (zip line & rappel). After a short hike out of the canyon, you'll be picked up and driven about 45 minutes to the famous Balsa River for 2 hours of thrilling white water rafting. On this class 2-3 river you'll experience a good mix of exciting rapids and rainforest exploration. Half way through the adventure, you'll stop for some drinks and snacks and have a chance to go for a swim in a calm river pool. This is a great combo of adrenaline, fun, nature and adventure!

An absolutely fantastic action-packed day! First up was the canyoning and waterfall rappelling. I'm terrified of heights but my husband and two children (11 and 12) love canyoning so I tagged along. The Pure Trek team were excellent and made me feel completely safe at all times. I managed the 50m drop rappel and the monkey drop - basically you zip line out over the top of a pool and then drop vertically into it! I was scared but it was awesome! The five different rappels were fantastic fun and we all loved them. After being given a snack by the Pure Trek team, we were dropped off with the team who were taking us on the white water rafting - Jacamar. The guide here - Francisco - was absolutely fantastic. He explained everything very clearly and we had an absolute blast white water rafting down the Balsa river, and were even allowed to swim some of the slower rapids. His knowledge of the wildlife was top notch and he pointed out sloths, iguanas, and many birds. Our final stop was a delicious lunch at a local restaurant before being dropped back at our hotel. A wonderful day out. Would highly recommend.The waterfall repelling was great! There were plenty of guys there to help you along- they were friendly and knew what they were doing!

Everyone was knowledgable of what they were doing, and made us feel safe through it all as well.There was a little miscommunication on the transportation to the excursion, but the guides were very accommodating and made sure we were taken care of. The rappelling was amazing and maybe the best part of our trip to Fortuna.

Augusto and Tyler are the best guides ever. And we saw a sloth eating!!!! Big deal. 10/10 recommend :) will be going back.Such a fun experience!
