The hike is 9km each way and takes 2-3 hours over sometimes difficult terrain. The hike is challenging and we recommended only for those who can walk for several hours.

I recommend taking his guided tour to anyone looking for a guide with a great sense of humor. Without him I don’t know if we would have experienced as much of the volcano hike as we did.Our tour guide was great and the experience was amazing. The hike was only moderately difficult. The average person could do it (in my opinion). The Blue Lagoon was a great way to relax after the hike. We also stopped by Salthusid for lunch and the fish and chips were delicious.

The blue lagoon is the best of the lagoons.I will highly recommend this trip to anyone who likes hiking. The volcano is active in these days and you can see it in action! This tour is very well organised and the guides are amazing!! The icing on the cake is the 2nd part of the tour - Blue lagoon, the tickets were included.

A lovely day that was almost spoilt at the very start. We were picked up seemlessly and taken to the bus terminal where we met the rest of our group. However, once we were all on board the coach, our guide told us the coach that had been provided by the company did not have a working seatbelt for the driver. We all agreed that this was unacceptable and we spent another hour waiting for an alternative coach to be provided. We were not impressed because the guide told us that the company knew of this fault before the tour but didn't fix it. Once we were on another coach and on our way we had a great experience and luckily the delay didn't seem to affect our tour too much as we still had a good amount of time for the lava fields, lunch, and blue lagoon. The experience was great and our tour guide was fantastic. The lava fields and short hike up above (30 mins) were amazing and a sight to behold. The hike is very steep but it doesn't take too long and you do get a great view of the lava fields below, although the best bit is definitely walking on and seeing the fields up close! We enjoyed the Icelandic style all you can eat fish and chips, at a restaurant we stopped at between the volcano and the blue lagoon(2650 isk). And the blue lagoon itself was mostly faultless, a face mask and drink were included with our entry and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience too. It wasn't even as busy as we expected and the sulphur smell we had been warned about wasn't strong at all. Unfortunately there was no swimming trunks dryer in the changing rooms, but what can you do. I would recommend this tour.
